Went ahead and wrote a Why Penn essay and sent it in. We will see what the outcome is soon enough, I guess!

Just received my acceptance mailing today (accepted on 1/10). Did anyone get scholly information in theirs (outside of the application process and that merit awards are rolling beginning in January)?

complete mid nov., UR1 12/17, switched to ED2 shortly after. no update since??

mine came today also but i dont know for certian bec wont be home until later.... Had my brother look through it quickly and he didnt see anything about merit aid though

packet the letter came two weeks ago

Well then here is to hoping that mine is waiting in my mailbox when I get home! I'm out in Utah so I may have to wait. I'm just hoping it trumps the packets I've received from previous schools because we all know the quality of the packet is indicative of the quality of the school.

I've been accepted to Penn and while it wasn't originally one of my top choices, after reviewing more of the courses and opportunities, I realize that it would be a really good fit for me. However, I'm not expecting to be invited to apply for the merit scholarships (I'm 169/4.14/non-URM), and attending at sticker seems silly when I have a $90,000 merit offer from UVA and a $67,500 offer from Michigan (3 year totals) which are peer schools. Does anyone know if Penn will consider matching scholarships?

Yes, they do non-named merit schollies. However they are traditionally very stingy.

Mine was decision letter and packet, although I was admitted last Thursday, so that explains why both came together. Also, the admission packet is a beast, going to tackle it tonight, but it looks very informative! I guess I'll just have to wait on the merit-scholly info haha.

Dean Post just called me. Told me I had the best personal statement that she's read yet. I proceeded to ramble on incoherently. This is insane. I was ED2, so cycle complete!

Too many to name. It's sorted with dividers that have info on course offerings, dual degree programs, Philly, Housing, Financial Aid, etc. Comparable to Vandy if you've heard of what their Black Box entails.

In today!!!! Was RD with my UCR2 on 12/17, then I switched to ED2 last Wednesday. So excited!!!!

Got the beast of an admissions packet today. I will also be tackling it later haha. It's cool that they put a course catalog in it with nice long descriptions.

For people who have gotten the packet, is there a car decal in there? I know its lame, but if not I wanted to order one for my grandmother who is probably more eicted than I am.
