My app went complete like a month ago and today, I get a big packet from Vandy. I'm ALL excited 'cause I think I just got in and I open it up, and you know what it is? A viewbook. A flipping viewbook. WTF, Vandy, quit playing games.

waitlisted; 2/10 mailing date. kind of bummed but i was expecting to get flat out rejected so at least that'll be dragged out a few more months!

Yea the Viewbook is a dirty trick, seriously. To the Vanderbilt admissions folks: this is the only viewbook I've gotten from a school I applied to and honestly it doesn't serve a useful purpose. It just gets our hopes up and then we get pissed when it's only a viewbook. I didn't even look at that bit of propaganda -- I have enough respect for the school without it! So next cycle, you'd have a happier applicant pool (and would save money) if you just nixed the viewbooks.

Huh. I know from at a topic in Financial Aid they were discussing how they did those interviews last year, but I can't remember seeing anything from this year. Could you find the reference?

Yea, I don't think any interviews have gone out for Vandy schollys, they just go by the scholarship application you submitted

Last year someone did have an interview for the named schollies. I don't know about this year, but I'd be surprised if they changed the process. Guess none of us are special. Maybe I could send them a suggestive wink and say that full tuition would seal the deal.

I think we can assume the "countdown" starts today since yesterday was the official deadline for their need access scholarships... Also, does anyone (here's where you current students come to the rescue) know if the schollies come in via snail mail or e-mail??
