I called Pitt yesterday. They told me they wouldn't be reviewing my application until after Christmas most likely. I submitted on 11/30

11/20 for me. I wonder if they'll get to mine before then or not.

I'm in state. My letter was dated 12/15 and I submitted my app in sept.
I would say I'm 90% sure I'll attend.
Congrats Big Hat! I knew you were a lock!

Never got a "Complete" email, just an "Under Review" email on 12/1.burvowski wrote:when did you guys go complete? Do you remember when you were notified your application was under review?
Congrats to you as well! The scholarship definitely makes it tempting. I already had a few hundred reasons to go to Pitt (family, friends, fiancee, etc.), but they just gave me tens of thousands more. And I love the bookmark/paper clip thing. Nice touch.Scurredsitless1 wrote:I'm in state. My letter was dated 12/15 and I submitted my app in sept.
I was really surprised I got money. I was a 159 and 3.35, but I have some really solid, unique, legal work experience.

Re: Pitt 2010
I got my letter yesterday, and I'm in, which is a relief as its my first decision from a school.
A little sad I didn't hear about money, but I guess I ought to be thankful I even got in with my lowly 3.8/157 combo. It says on their website that all scholarship stuff will be mailed to you within three weeks of admission, so I'm holding on to a tiny little amount of hope, as with a little money Pitt would be one of my topmost choices.

Are you in state? (Your profile says you went to school here.) I'm thinking they might not be as liberal with scholarship money for in-staters.hds2388 wrote:I got my letter yesterday, and I'm in, which is a relief as its my first decision from a school.

I am not in state. I merely have somewhat of a fetish for pennsylvania...more specifically it's decision to have a selection of colleges and law schools far superior to my home state.badwithpseudonyms wrote:Are you in state? hds, when did you go complete? I have a similar combo (3.7/158) and I'm hoping that might squeeze a little money out of them. That is, if I get accepted lol

Congrats! That's where I'm at (well, I'm definitely in-state), and three years for the price of one somewhere else is sounding pretty good right now.burvowski wrote:called them. the letter must have gotten lost with the snow storm, i guess. Sorry about your letter. The gold bookmark is awesome!

Do you know how strict Pitt is for considering in-state residency?

Re: Pitt 2010
This .pdf is from Bloomsburg U, but becoming a state resident for tuition purposes should apply across the board, as it is a policy set by the state gov't. Check the first full question on the second page. It sounds like you won't get in-state your first year, but if you make it look like you plan on staying in PA (e.g. obtain a PA driver's license, register your car in PA, etc.) and you are not a dependent on your parent's taxes, then you can plead your case. No guarantee, but equivalent to a shot at a $24k scholarship.burvowski wrote:luckily they are sending another one to the address in pittsburgh i'm at now for the holidays.
