I am a 164/3.2 and I applied. I didn't see a person accepted with those numbers on LSN this year. (I am expecting an outright rejection but I thought it was worth a shot.)

What are the reported "issues" with Hastings? I know the area of SF isn't great and that the Tuition+Cost of living are pretty high. Anything outside of these geneal concerns? Problems with faculty? Student body?

I have been told by several alums that the atmosphere is very competitive and not very positive. They said the job prospects are good and its well respected but that they did not enjoy the school... That would not bother some peopel though it just depends on what you are looking for in a school...

I heard that but then again also heard from a handful of (albeit old) alumni, they had a great time. It's hard not to enjoy SF. It's an amazing city. The relaxed grading policy they're implementing this year ought to change things too.

Man, I'm so anxious to hear back from Hastings. I have a 164/3.5, which seems to have worked out for a bunch of people this cycle. So far, I've only been accepted at U of Houston and I'm losing faith in Texas and GW.

Hastings took a while to start sending out decisions, so you may have a while to wait. You probably saw the 164 trend on LSN, so you have a good shot.

Same thing happened to me last year. I waited until March, contacted the admissions office, and got in shortly thereafter. I think it's sort of a semi-YP, to gauge your actual interest in the school. You'll almost certainly get in eventually, though, so don't worry too much.

In today (letter dated 1/22). I went complete back in mid November but they don't start reviewing apps until Jan so I didn't expect to hear back until March. I talked to the admissions ppl earlier this week and they told me not to expect anything until March so I'm happy to have heard so early For those that are curious, I'm 158/3.56
