when sending a LOCI, do you attach it as a separate document or post it into the body of the email? thanks!

I'm in. I have a 173/3.90. I got the feeler on 5/4, UR on 5/5, DLS on 5/10, and a phone call on 5/10 at 3:00pm EST saying I was accepted. Good luck to everyone!

Re: NYU c/o 2019 WAITLIST
Hello all,
I am also a long-time lurker on this website. Very thankful for the wit and humor and information I've received every time I checked.
I was recently admitted off the waitlist (5/10) after receiving the feeler email on (5/4). I have a 167/ 3.81
I just received my financial aid "award" this morning at 930AM (after completing my need access application last night at 10PM) of $0.
I don't know how negotiations go this late in the game but would it even be worth it? The quarter million dollars worth of debt tells me yes but I don't know how to go about doing it. The only real bargaining chip I have is Fordham's scholarship of 35k/year but it's not a comparable school.
Any information would be helpful.
Thank you!

You have nothing to lose by trying to negotiate. Just be polite and go for it!Veronicalawschool wrote:Hello all,

Re: NYU c/o 2019 WAITLIST
I tried negotiating up from my $0 too and didn't get anywhere. But there's no harm in trying. I would also suggest you tell Fordham (or wherever you have put down a deposit) that you've been admitted to NYU. NU seemed willing to consider increasing my scholarship at this point in light of being admitted to NYU.Veronicalawschool wrote:Hello all,

At this point, it can't hurt to negotiate. But, if they had money and wanted to give it you to...they would have. They are going to tell you to go to Fordham if the money is that important.Veronicalawschool wrote:Hello all,

Conversely, you could probably push Fordham to give you A LOT more money to steal you away from NYU.

Re: NYU c/o 2019 WAITLIST
I got put on the waitlist on 4/19 and was confirmed on the waitlist on 4/22 according to the status checker. Checker still says that and I haven't gotten any feeler email. I sent a LOCI last week and received confirmation that they got it. Are wait list offers still going out/should I wait it out?

No movement for me, but I suspect that they're waiting to hear back from those who received offers last week before they kick off the next round. I think the deadline for those people is this Thursday.exnyc wrote:any movement this week? What's happening![]()

Keep the faith! NYU usually has a lot more movement on its waitlist than most of its peers.

Re: NYU c/o 2019 WAITLIST
Hey all, first post and checking in.
174/3.5 - applied in late October, wait listed April 17th (during my visit to NYU no less. I was actually sitting in the Law library when I got the email...lol) and just sent in my LOCI on Monday. They replied back saying they got it, now I'm waiting.
I've been accepted to Texas, but would really like to attend NYU. I'm supposed to fill out my Letter of Intent for Texas (in lieu of a second deposit) by June 6th.
A couple questions:
1. Do we know when the majority of wait listed applicants received a decision in previous years? Is there a decent chance I'll have an answer from NYU before June 6th?
2. Would it be super inappropriate to sign Texas's LOI and then later withdraw if admitted to NYU later in the summer?
After some very brief searching, I couldn't find the answers to the above questions, so any help you guys might have would be super appreciated!

Cool! If the last round is any indication, you should hear back from them next week. It seemed like most of the people who went UR were accepted.skf555 wrote:Just went under review ! What does this mean and how long until a decision is reached ? Thanks !

If anyone is interested, I looked at the last 4 cycles and found the distribution by stat quadrant of both the WL and those accepted from the WL
It's interesting that it seems like 64% of those accepted off the WL are on that Splitter/Reverse Splitter diagonal.
Code: Select all
WL Distribution
LSAT

----------------------------------------------------------------
G [ 0, 25) | 0.0660 | 0.0459 | 0.0745 | 0.1662
P [25, 50) | 0.0516 | 0.0917 | 0.1061 | 0.0574
A [50, 75) | 0.0287 | 0.0917 | 0.0516 | 0.0115
[70,100] | 0.0459 | 0.0488 | 0.0373 | 0.0172
