I didn't know people have already been asked for an interview. :( Were you asked for an interview?
There were a few in the first Reserve group who were asked for interviews. I think everyone who was accepted was interviewed first. Nope, haven't received an interview request, just curious because the second round of requests should go out sometime in the next few weeks.

From what I recall seeing on TLS, historically, no one was accepted off of second reserve. But that's just what I remember reading. So maybe we shouldn't expect any interview requests :|

Let's not give up hope just yet. I gotta say I am jealous of all of the NYU people. That's gonna be pretty easy logistically to wait till the bitter end.

I interviewed last week and got the acceptance call earlier this week. The interview process was very similar to the previous interview I had with CLS, and overall the interview was fairly casual and nothing out of the ordinary.

Still can't really believe I got off CLS reserve of all places after seeing all the wait list statistics. If I recall from last years thread, there were still acceptances late into summer so best of luck to everyone!

Congratulations! Happy and jealous of you at the same time. Were you a reverse splitter as well? I noticed those were the people who were coming off the waitlist on LSN. As a regular splitter, it seems like I'm on the other end of the spectrum of students they're accepting right now :(

Nope, I was a pretty big regular splitter so I think they're probably balancing the people they take off reserve.

That's great, congrats! Do you mind sharing when you got your interview request? I'm curious what their turnaround time is

Beat the odds! Interviewed last week, accepted earlier this week. CLS is my dream school.

Were those accepted asked to phone in a decision by today?

I wanted to make a decision after getting some financial aid/housing info but those have not come to fruition yet...

First and foremost, congrats to the aforementioned two on their acceptance!
And 'll take it all these interview requests/acceptances off of second reserve means they've begun and/or finished reviewing second reserve applicants? Not feeling very good about CLS's next correspondence :(

Call FA to try and get a decision - I'm sure they will expedite if they have all your info.

If I'm not mistaken I don't think they've requested interviews from 2nd reserve people yet. I know that my request email came a day or so before the big wave of second reserve emails and I never got a second reserve email.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but just called the admissions office. Seems like they've already begun reviewing second reserve. Tried to squeeze some info out of them regarding what to expect on their next correpeondence and whether the class was oversubscribed Was told that they currently have a full class and that they "encourage applicants to make alternative plans".

Sorry for sounding so dismal but seems like it's gunna be the end of the road for a lot of us, though it was kinda expected lol.

Bumping this thread because the Second Reserve letter said the next round of responses would come in mid-July.

The last I thing heard from the admissions office was an acknowledgment of receipt for my LOCI in mid-June. Also, according to LSN, a grand total of two accepted students have withdrawn in the last two weeks. Does anyone have more recent news?

No news, but just a cautiously optimistic reminder that it's likely that LSN doesn't have everyone's status, much less not an up-to-date status, and especially not all the people who withdrew in the last month or two, knowing the timing of final deposits and whatnot. Until we get a "no" in the mail, it's possible. :D

I have a few questions:

Does anyone know the timing of final deposits (for Columbia and the peer schools that would pull from Columbia)?

Does anyone have an idea of when schools start looking at the LSAC seat deposit report and force students to make decisions?

Besides those events, outside of random individuals dropping out, is there anything else that would drive movement? (for example YHS making WL decisions),

I think Columbia only had one deposit deadline. I don't know about other schools, but I believe Harvard doesn't require a deposit and I wonder if, with Chicago and Stanford starting later, they may have a slightly different timeline. From what I remember, the LSAC deposit report is available in mid June.

The deferral deadline was in mid June, I believe, so that's maybe being considered a bit in this round. It seems Harvard and Stanford have admitted a few waitlist people in the last month (based on TLS skimming), but I don't know the full number, of course. There's also the extremely unlikely, though possible option of someone deciding not to go at the last minute, as you note, but I'm not sure what else beyond that. Maybe a sudden need for extra people paying tuition because the endowment took a hit at the end of the quarter?
