There is no etiquette... You can not be required to pull yourself off a waitlist.

I guess i wasnt sure which direction you were aiming for. Theres no need to let the school know that youre riding a waitlist. You just pay the seat deposit at school A and ride it out at B. Unless school A asks, i suppose

Has anyone had any luck or experiences getting off of a WL by telling the school you've been accepted to higher-ranked schools or peer schools? I'm just curious.

No experience here whatsoever, but it seems like that would have the exact opposite effect for schools looking to keep admit rates low and yield rates high.

I've only ever heard of this strategy in scholarship negotiations. In that case, you're in already at both schools, its just like trying to get more $$ out of a lower school

Depends on why you've been WL'd. If it's YP, then TCR is just to send a LOCI and write about specifics that make the school a good fit. If it's not YP, you can send a LOCI that does the same thing, but that also suggests that you've been admitted to XYZ other schools but that really you want to go there.

Didn't you apply super late? That would explain the WLs, which you probably already know. I don't think it would come across the wrong way so long as you frame it politely (i.e., "I feel very fortunate to have been offered admission at XYZ schools. However, I really want to attend school A for reasons...")

Ironically, my WL came from my earliest application and I've had better luck since. Thanks for your advice; I think I will take it.

That's why I'm wondering if they YP... Although I would think they'd understand that my GPA makes things a little more tenuous and my acceptance is more likely than others applying with the same LSAT.

Ride or die on this waitlist. Nothing's worse then getting Waitlisted at your top school where two of your cousins and girlfriend got in .... Currently Waitlisted at my top 2 schools just waiting to hear back from the last 2 schools.
