If you are referring to those rejections, they have been there for a week or so now. I thought that maybe those were early decision applicants, as Emory does have that 14-day guaranteed decision for ED apps. I know that the one acceptance is an error, that particular user's profile was for last year.James.K.Polk wrote:There are some reported decisions on LSN, could be mistakes though.

Re: Emory Law c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
There's been some discussion about when they'd start making decisions. Their own website/FAQ says that they'll start making decisions in February.
Now in all likelyhood, they've probably already made a lot of decisions, but probably the first acceptance packages will be released on February.
Hopefully this is closer to Feb. 1 than Feb 29, though.

Re: Emory Law c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Hi, this is Ethan Rosenzweig, dean of admission and financial aid at Emory Law. I appreciate your indulging my posts from time-to-time. I have been signing letters for the last few days, and we are about to begin inviting applicants to join our community. This is my favorite time of the year, and I wanted to update everyone on our process:
Application Submissions: We started reviewing files for scholarship decisions, and I encourage folks to submit their applications so that we can make sure everyone has full opportunity for the maximum financial aid. We accept the February LSAT, but ask that you submit your application before the scores are released so we can begin preparing your file before our March 1 priority submission deadline.
Decision Notification: I anticipate a few decisions to be communicated before the end of this month with the bulk of them being sent out the 1st week of February through the end of March. Our full scholarship Woodruff deadline is January 25; we usually review those files and then send out the rest of our scholarship decisions shortly thereafter. (In addition to give me some heartburn, our printer had delays with our new admitted students packet so we are pushing hard to get them out.) Traditionally, our decision letter also includes scholarship information; however, a few admittees will receive their decision letter separately in order to give our scholarship committee a little more time to review the files. We communicate decisions via U.S. Mail, Fedex, and email. I am trying to figure out what is most effective, and I appreciate your feedback and responses to my queries and surveys on this part of the process.
Finally, each admitted students will receive a “Flat Dooley” who is the unofficial mascot of Emory. I had this brainstorm that new students could take pictures with Flat Dooley in cool places, and then post the pic on twitter. I am brining my Flat Dooley around the country for pics too. We’ll see how it goes, and I hope y’all like it.
That is all I have for now. Thanks for making my job so fulfilling. I do hope to read your application soon. If you have any questions or need anything, just give me a shout via jdadmisison(a)emory.edu.

Thanks so much for the update! Emory is my top choice, and I can't wait to be a part of this community.

Re: Emory Law c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Please email decisions, followed up by the official letter with the acceptance packet. This is the most effective with me as an applicant due to the fact that I get super excited about the acceptance, then the excitement wears off, but then I get super excited again when the admissions packet arrives. Thus, I feel more inclined to attend a school when they accept me in this way.EmoryAdmissionDean wrote:Hi, this is Ethan Rosenzweig, dean of admission and financial aid at Emory Law. Re: Emory Law c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Has anyone received an acceptance yet? I know this questions seems odd considering the post from admissions was just 2 days ago, but last year people were receiving decisions on the same day as the post from admissions.

I really don't think data from last year trumps a clear and detailed statement regarding this year.bdb90 wrote:Has anyone received an acceptance yet? I knew there had to be acceptances out there somewhere. It just seems like there were more on the day of the admissions office post last year. Hope those acceptances are filtering out.

Those of you who have received acceptance notices already - when did you have your apps in?
I wonder if acceptances are going out in the order they were received, or in some other order...

Re: Emory Law c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
My best guess (completely speculation, albeit) would be that they are not going out in the order they were received, since it does not seem like Emory is adhering to any sort of rolling admissions model. Perhaps level of confidence (i.e. the "definite yes" acceptances are being sent out first), since it seems like they got a fuller idea of the applicant pool and started releasing acceptances from there.njkga wrote:Those of you who have received acceptance notices already - when did you have your apps in?

- "a few short weeks" = could be another 2 months for all we know
- the "first wave of invitations" - so I/we may not even be getting anything this "wave"!
thanks for messing with my anxiety, Emory

My hopeful heart wonders why they would send an email saying "check out these scholarships!" if they were planning on denying me. But in reality I know that is probably not the case...LawSchoolApp123321 wrote:seems so suggestive was it sent to everyone I assume?James.K.Polk wrote:Emory, you're cool, but why the heck are you sending emails like that?
