Hi everyone, got waitlisted on Friday after thinking I would be most probably be rejected due to low numbers. Don't want to get super excited yet because I'm dying to go here and was just wondering if anyone has any idea on how many people get off the waitlist in general at BC and if you expect this year to be any different. Any info would be awesome. Thanks in advance!

Wow that's shocking. The presumable increase in applicants may put 161 a little closer to the 25th, but your GPA should more than offset it. Were you a FT applicant?

How much do you think the uptick in applicants will increase the 25th-50th-75th, from a 158-162-163 (c/o 2018). The year before (c/o 2017), the spread was 159-162-164.
That's very hard to predict, because different school's may use the increased pool for different purposes. I do think that it isn't a stretch to expect a 160 25th and maybe a 163 or 4 median. idk
That is not a realistic increase for this year. BC has experienced a sharper drop, both in GPA and LSAT, compared to its peer schools ever since the legal market contracted. I expect to see something similar to c/o 2017/18
I know schools are expecting an uptick, but looking at LSAT registration numbers, it looks very similar to 2013-2014. Additionally, I wonder if the quality of test takers is evenly distributed, which may give schools a larger number of stronger applicants.
Yes, pretty much what I just said...we'll likely see a return to the class of 2017 (2014 entering) numbers (159/162/164).

When is the data regarding the distribution of test takers scores released? I have been scouring the other sub-forums for data regarding this, but have found nothing as of yet.

It's difficult to say. Mike Spivey has said a school had 60% more applications than this time last year, as of a few weeks ago. Not sure if that puts us in 2013-2014 territory. I think most people who considered going last year ended up going due to the downtick in takers. That combined with (imo) some pretty difficult LSAT's recently might still leave us in a pretty good spot this year.

Score band data is coming out sometime in December.

Actually for the record he said he talked to one school that was up 61%. Read more about what you can do about it here: http://spiveyconsulting.ghost.io/applic ... -up-cycle/

Where'd the 61 percent figure come from?

Mike, are you saying there is no truth to the 60-percent rise in apps for one school? That would be a precipitous climb.

No, that school is up, indeed up 71% as of last week. But I was just responding to a previous version of that post I saw under his name/this thread where I was quoted as saying something about a bunch of t14 schools are up 60% (or something like that-- it was like 5:30am when I read it), which I had never said.

The anecdotal data I have from speaking to two deans at top 20 law schools is that they are both flat.
The third school I have talked with of late, and mentioned here, is indeed up 71% and is a top 50 law school
My best guess is that applications are up, around 8% is my guess

I will get a data dump very soon, likely early Dec., and will sprint to my computer to share with everyone.

Do you know when we can expect to see the distribution of LSAT scores for October 2015?

It isn't reported quite like that. LSAC will give a report (in early December is my best guess based on past years) to law schools on LSAT bandwidths, etc etc on applicants this year (as of report) versus last year of same date. In other words, it isn't based on a particular test (although many of the applicants this year will likely be from that test...but certainly not all) but a particular date compared over the same date last year. And once LSAC gets this data to schools, we will put up on our blog. It's a com'n!

Also, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Yeah, sucks. Growing up I always wanted to go to BC, now I've been dinged by their undergrad and law programs.

Who knows - I'm retaking LSAT in February and, with enough of a boost, might suddenly be a good candidate for BC haha

btw, every time I see your avatar I think of the meme with that image that reads: "what it feels like using your GI Bill" :D

They seem to have a dinged a few people this cycle whom I would've thought to have a decent shot, at least for a WL. I haven't heard anything yet because I'm retaking this weekend and they were holding my app until I asked that it be reviewed now. I've been under review for 2 weeks-ish. I'm already planning to retake again in Feb since I'm graduating in a couple weeks. Going to do the full-time study thing to get closer to 170.

I'm glad my avatar is doing it's job. My old username was too obvious as to who I am, so that meme became my inspiration!

163. I haven't been diligent with my prep and football season has killed me. I'm still -4/-5 on LG at times and rarely -0. I've done nothing for RC and almost nothing for LR, so I'm just hoping to climb to 165ish on Saturday and then make a strong effort for Feb.

I wouldn't waste the take. Plenty of us over here with 3 takes who would kill for the chance to take it again.
