I think they might be ranked around 20s. However their unemployment rate has quadrupled from 5.36% for 2012 to 21.43% for 2013. I would not consider attending a school where 1/5 students is unemployed. I think they will probably trend downwards too because they attracted a good class with those great scholarships the first couple of years.KITTEN4DINNER wrote:Any word on where Irvine is projected to be placed this year when rankings are released?
In conclusion many second tier schools have better employment rates.

They have an entire section for conversations like this under choosing a law school. This conversation is pointless to have and purely speculative at this point.

If you mean second tier schools in CA, UCI still places better than UC Hastings/Pepperdine/Loyola/USD and much better than Santa Clara/Chapman/Southwestern/UOP.Iagreetotheseterms wrote:I think they might be ranked around 20s. Or perhaps it depends on whether you care more about having any job or having a job as a lawyer.
Their bar passage rates are also below Loyola and Pepperdine.

Re: UC Irvine c/o 2018
additionally i think it's also important to look at what type of jobs they are looking for / getting. like are we talking about 500+ atty firms / clerkships or are we talking about solo / 2-9 atty firms.
but seriously can we take this elsewhere, choosing LS forum

Here is a link to the Grad Housing options: http://housing.uci.edu/grad/index.html Looks like rent starts at $700 for the cheapest to $1000 for a 1br or studio. I have friends who live in Grad Housing and they like it. They aren't the Ritz, but they are functional and convenient for sure. They are also a lot cheaper than anything else you will find in the surrounding area (unless you share).rion91 wrote:Anyone know how much rent is on campus?

hmm, looks like Verano Place and Palo Verde only allow cats and, at their discretion, small animals like ferrets or guinea pigs. VP looks like a nice place to live ;DKayak1277 wrote:Here is a link to the Grad Housing options: http://housing.uci.edu/grad/index.html Looks like rent starts at $700 for the cheapest to $1000 for a 1br or studio. ^^ lol u must hv pets or something
anyhow has anyone gotten their scholarship offer separate from the admissions package? if yes, how long did it take? how does it come--mail email or call?
i must hv checked my inbox at least thirty times today and my mailbox five times today looking for the money offer only from uci law. heck with other schools. i really cant take this wait much longer, anxiety is driving me crazy and this drive is taking my (in)sanity to the next level.
an admission offer without sholarship offer is good as nothing grrrr
o i just learned today that it is dean chem who is arguing against the arizona legislatn that bans ethnic studies classes in AZ, scheduled to argue in the nineth circuit court in a few weeks. i wld love to meet this guy during asw.

i saw that when i applied too, took me about 20min to reduce it down. it was hard figuring out what to sacrifice but it can be done.still wrote:was considering applying today but then realized they had a 500 word limit on their PS

Re: UC Irvine c/o 2018
Does anyone have the following information:
- average salary for private sector / government / PI / clerkship of UCI law graduates?
I could find the number of people who go into those jobs, but I can't seem to find employment statistics on how much they make respectively. (LST doesn't have the info either.
) Where can I find them??
Thanks!!
eta i swear i cant find this info anywhere, looked everywhere for it. is it supposed to b a secret or something what gives
