I was also offered a public service scholarship. I think this is a merit scholarship, but I'm not sure whether they supplement them with additional merit/need aid.LVbucknell wrote:Received the public service scholarship today, which I did not apply for. anyone know if they give multiple scholarships, ie..public service + merit + leadership?

I inquired about applying for another scholarship and was told "we consider applicants for the four types of scholarships but only award one type to applicants, thus what you were offered would be your full scholarship offer."LVbucknell wrote:Received the public service scholarship today, which I did not apply for. anyone know if they give multiple scholarships, ie..public service + merit + leadership?

I received my scholarship e-mail before my acceptance e-mail, which was weird. In any case, got in a few minutes ago.

Have gotten (much) bigger offers at other schools, several are higher ranked. I am in-state, but I'm hoping to bring down the overall COA

I haven't seen any data regarding the FNG. If I were you, I would give them a call to see. I would also just go ahead and apply; it can't hurt.gobears2012 wrote:Can anyone provide any insight on need-based grants? Any information on how many people receives it or who actually qualifies?
BTW, is anyone planning to go to the first weekend visit? I'm trying to decide between the March 20-21 and April 10-11 dates.

I attended Admitted Students day and was told that they would not be negotiating scholarships. If anyone still attempts to negotiate, please let us know if it works.

I was there this past weekend as well. Admissions pretty much said "We will not match offers from other schools, but we might reconsider your award for special circumstances."MikkiPrat wrote:I attended Admitted Students day and was told that they would not be negotiating scholarships. Also interested to see if anyone has been successful thus far.

I sent a negotiation email, got a response requesting proof of my other offers, sent it, and have not received anything since. This did occur Friday though so I will let you know.CM3809 wrote:I was there this past weekend as well. I sent a negotiation email towards the end of February and got a response saying they were reviewing my request. I included my other offers. I was also at the visit on Saturday and heard the part about negotiating, but I'm encouraged by the fact that the office didn't just reject my request immediately.cuboxing25 wrote:I sent a negotiation email, got a response requesting proof of my other offers, sent it, and have not received anything since. That's interesting...they seemed pretty adamant about us not sending in emails to negotiate...megs2015 wrote:I sent a negotiation email towards the end of February and got a response saying they were reviewing my request. I wasn't at ASD to hear about them not negotiating. When I sent the email a couple weeks ago they said they'd review my request also! I included the other offers. I'm hoping they respond soon cause Osu really is my first choice, but I applied AD so the deposit deadline is quickly approaching!!

Anyone else going to ASD on Friday/Saturday? Also, any suggestions on what to do on Saturday night? Looks like programming ends on Saturday afternoon.

The area just south of campus (Short North) is filled with bars, clubs, and shops. You'll find plenty to do there. If that's not your thing, I'm sure I can make other suggestions.gobears2012 wrote:Anyone else going to ASD on Friday/Saturday? Also, any suggestions on what to do on Saturday night? eta: currently live in Old North, 0 minute drive and 2 minute walk from campus, would also be happy to make suggestions
I guess I consider all the stuff by Nationwide to be clubs. It's not my kind of thing, so I may be wrong there. Even as a student, I spent pretty much all my time at Polaris or Easton. Honestly, if you're driving to ASD, I would suggest either of those areas over campus.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
