Anyone know how scholarships work at UCLA? Is everyone who is admitted considered for merit aid?

I applied ED and still haven't heard back from UCLA. Do you think they will hold the Rejection email until Dec 31 as a New year gift for us? I'll be counting down in tears

While they are certainly behind the times in not having a status checker, UCLA had the good sense to admit me recently (yay!), so I don't understand your hostility, neurotic.

So far they have failed to demonstrate their good judgement (my app is still pending). Should I write them an angry letter demanding admission?

Even better, go in person and yell in their face, I'm sure that'll do the trick!

Dear UCLA,

I am writing to inquire into the status of my application which I submitted quite some time ago. Given my impressive, unparalleled credentials, I am entitled to a quick, affirmative decision. Your vacillation is jeopardizing my good will. Act quickly, or I will be forced to take my hard earned loan $$$ elsewhere.

Consider yourself warned.

With condescension,

Neurotic

Congrats on everyone getting in! I'm in the process of filling out the app. This may be a very dumb question, but for the section that asks for GPA, and specifically RANK, is it okay to put: "Top 15 Percent" ? Or is there a better way to word this? My undergrad does not record individual class rankings.

My school does not do rank so I left it blank and I was admitted. Note that it is not a required field. I'd leave it out unless you know for sure.

I left blank because I don't know for sure where I fall. It's more for statistical purposes, you'll be okay. If it was material they would have made it a required component.
