Kingsbrou wrote:For those wondering about the timing of acceptance and scholarship offers, I submitted my application on January 7th, was accepted on January 21st, and was awarded a full-tuition scholarship coupled with a position as a paid research assistant January 28th. This was all sent through email. They also sent me some snail mail between acceptance and scholarship notification regarding what they would need from me in order to claim my seat.
I was in the application cycle last year as well and have never had a school move that quickly.
Thanks for the information! I was accepted on the 27th so I'm hoping for the same turn around!

Waitlisted via status checker. Iowa is a huge reach for me, so pleasantly surprised. Any advice on drafting up a LOCI for them?

Does Iowa have a ASW or ASD? I can't seem to find any info and since I got a sizable scholarship, I'd be remiss not to see the school.

Just got in! 3.13, 159, URM. Anybody get an email from the financial aid office a while before you were admitted that they would not able to offer scholarships at the moment because you hadn't been admitted to the program yet?

Very excited to get in at a top 50, much less somewhere like Iowa. From what I have read the school has a yellow ribbon program and charges in-state tuition for veterans as well.
Definitely my top choice, does anyone know much about the career paths of out of state students who are looking to practice outside the state? If outside prospects are not good, how is the market in-state?
Here's how the dispersion of graduates looks.

How long does it normally take for them to send you an email after you've paid for the application via LSAC?

Pretty quickly. You should hear back from them a day after you applied. How many of the out of state people on here got Law Fellowships?

What do you mean by Law Fellowship? Is that the same as research assistant?

Accepted a couple days ago. Nice scholly offer. Out of state. Wasn't expecting this quick of a turn around. It's an intriguing option.

I remember it said they'll reimburse up to $400, but only if you matriculate.

If anyone heading to ASW next weekend wants to look at splitting a car or hotel room should send me a PM. Trying to get it all figured out this week.

I'll be driving in from the Dallas area if that helps clarify my previous post.

Just booked my hotel, I'll be at the ASW. Should be getting in at about 10am on Friday, hopefully I don't miss too much.

Emailed admissions yesterday about what time everything starts Friday. Said it was set to begin around 10 so you should be good!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
