I applied last cycle, have a 172, and could not negotiate. But you should try, you never know.

Checking in. Still waiting on UT after that administrative error ding, but SMU has a good Yellow Ribbon program so why not.

Waiting..... :/ So emotionless about the whole thing, really. I haven't even been neurotically checking my status checkers! lol. Hoping for some good money from T14 though. What about you? You retook right?

Re: SMU Dedman Law c/o 18 Applicants
I haven't been checking my statuses at all... I had to apply late cuz of unforeseen circumstances, but I'm hoping SMU gives me $$$ so I can just live at home! UT wouldn't be bad with a little cash either. T 14 is out for me due to finances unfortunately...bound wrote:ilikebaseball wrote:Bound did you send in a deposit yet or are you waiting on T14/UT?bound wrote:I applied last cycle, have a 172, and could not negotiate. I just got my new LSAT score, but my GPA is so bad. Literally a 3.2. I'm really worried that alone won't get me money from SMU even above median for LSAT

Question for the admitted students. Has anyone been able to find the admitted students facebook page that was referenced in the acceptance package? I tried typing in the group name exactly as it was listed in the letter and added subtle changes for more searches but can't find it. What might I be missing?

Thanks B. That looks like the page for last cycle but I requested to join anyway...maybe the admin will point me in the right direction. If not, I'll send an email next week.BVest wrote:I suspect you seek this: SMU Dedman Law 2014-2015 Admitted Students

Indeed. The letter said to include "School of" in the search term, which is not in the page title. That was the problem. Thanks!BVest wrote:You're right... my bad. But that title definitely points you in the right direction.

Might be visiting Dallas within the next few weeks. Can anyone point me to places to go for some good restaurants, good bars, etc.?

Tons of places to go. It depends what district you'll be near. As for restaurants close to SMU, usually Uptown will be where you are directed. However, there are a number of really nice, 5 star restaurants across high way 75 on Greenville Avenue. SMU is sorta in the middle of two major highways: 75 and DNT (Dallas Tollway) so if you go the opposite way, towards the tollway, there are some brazilian steakhouse places that I like. However, literally a block away from campus is this German place called Kuby's. I personally believe its the best breakfast I've had since I've lived here (18 years) so try it in the morning. Kuby's in the morning, torchy's (a tad bit overrated taco place near campus) for lunch, then make your pick for dinner depending on which district you're in.HavingFun wrote:Might be visiting Dallas within the next few weeks. Thanks for the advice, I will definitely check those out. I also hear that the consensus for bars is uptown district as well?
