This is killing me. Was really hoping that my date change yesterday would mean a decision today

Hopefully there is an admit wave tomorrow. This wait is torture.
I thought we'd definitely see at least a few offers made this week.

Maybe all those NU admits with withdraw, and all they'll have left to work with is me and Nucky.Nucky wrote:Hopefully there is an admit wave tomorrow. This wait is torture.

I'm okay with getting in by default.

Looks like I'll be going to ND as well.
We are writing to let you know that we have placed your name on our summer waiting list. This list consists of a group of strong candidates for whom there currently is no space available in our entering class. Openings can occur at any time during the summer, including late August. However, because of the late date, deferments of admission will not be available to people admitted from the waiting list.
If you would like your application to remain active as part of our waiting list, please email us at jdadmissions@cornell.edu within two weeks with the address, phone number, and email that you would like us to use to contact you throughout the summer. Please note that we are asking you to respond to us with regard to this updated decision, and if we do not hear back from you, we will assume you have made others plans and will withdraw your file from further consideration.
We encourage you to send us any additional information, such as spring semester grades and additional faculty or employer recommendations that you believe would be helpful to the Committee in arriving at a favorable decision in your case. If at any time you are unavailable to respond to an offer of admission, be sure that someone at your address is authorized to act for you by sending us a $900 registration deposit.
We regret any inconvenience being placed on our waiting list may cause you. We sincerely hope that we will be able to reach a favorable decision on your application in the near future, and we thank you for your continued interest in Cornell Law.
Sincerely,
Cornell Law School Admissions

This looks like bad news for those in limbo (aka me), so the class is currently full? If that's so I'm curious as to why they haven't just WL'd/Ding'd the rest of us as well?Mansa wrote:Dear #########rahulg91 wrote:Do you mind sharing the content of the e-mail?Mansa wrote:Waitlisted.

I got the waitlist as well. They basically addressed my deferment question, so I will be withdrawing! good luck to everyone else

Technically, they do not say the class is full. Rather, there is no space available (yet) for people on the waitlist. To me this just sounds like boilerplate waitlist language and, by itself, is not reason to think we should be expecting bad news.rahulg91 wrote:

However, the fact that in previous years Cornell has admitted a few from reserve before sending out WL/dings is cause for some concern.
At this point I am just confused!

Yeah if we don't hear back today I vote Nucky calls admissions and asks wtf is going on.stugots wrote:Technically, they do not say the class is full. Also, I think us reservists are all getting in this afternoon. They're just sitting on it because they want to make our weekend awesome.

I really like the way you think. It seems like the summer waitlist is necessary in case of the possibilities of reserve --> admits denying the acceptance for a prior deposit. Hopefully hovering in reserve purgatory is a good thing.Nucky wrote:Haha, how about we three way call them instead?rahulg91 wrote:Yeah if we don't hear back today I vote Nucky calls admissions and asks wtf is going on.stugots wrote:Technically, they do not say the class is full. Also, based on who has been dinged/WL'd so far, it seems like they're looking to round out their class by favoring a higher GPA versus a higher LSAT that accompanies a lower GPA.

Chances we hear something today? Or at this point are we forced to wait another week

Yeah most likely we wait until Monday. I'm baffled to be honest. What is so different about our applications that they can't give us a WL or Ding? Isn't it just looking at numbers at this point or am I over-simplifying the process?dkl52 wrote:Chances we hear something today? Or at this point are we forced to wait another week

I actually think it may be beyond a numbers game at this point. ManOfTheHour has better stats than me and he was dinged. I think URM status, softs, recommendations, and maybe even origin have a sizable role at this point.rahulg91 wrote:Yeah most likely we wait until Monday. I'm baffled to be honest. It's only 3:20 in Ithaca right now. Still a chance we hear something today. I'd love to have a reason to go to happy hour today. Come on, Cornell!

The question is, would you go to happy hour only for good news?Nucky wrote:

To my knowledge, there have been no acceptances yet from reserve. This is based just on TLS and LSN, though.lakers8398 wrote:has anyone been accepted off the reserve list?
