I think he didn't get into any decent law school. He's probably just trying to vent his frustration by telling everyone not to go to law school. We know this type of people. Those that complain about the test rather than their own ineptitude.

I would disregard the above advice. I'm telling people not to go to law school because basic statistical inquiry suggests that in most cases, it's not a smart, self preserving or financially secure decision.

Oh, BTW lol.

Statistics says that there is a 99.2% chance that I scored better than you on the LSAT. I'm not complaining about any tests.

the creation of this thread ruined this thread. It's a monstrosity born of ill defined goals and poorly perceived notions.

Umm....someone just got off the NU wait list with a full ride.

Better go PM him since it's a strong enough indicator for him not to go. It's not like having ties, wanting Chicago big law, and having his SO there is any good reason for him to take the offer.

that is absolutely awesome!

I never suggested that ALWAYS choosing to not go to law school is the default option. I just said that in most instances the selection of schools a person has, coupled with low GPA/LSAT suggests it wouldn't be a smart choice. For example - when someone is on multiple wait lists for shitty schools with dismal employment outcomes, when they don't have clearly defined goals or when their goals are unrealistic given the employment outcomes of a certain school, NOT GOING is the best option. Conversely, like the above example suggests, in some instances going to law school is a GOOD OPTION, albeit still a calculated risk. Apparently nuance is lost on many of you.

I'm not usually in the business of calling people idiots, but if you confuse the bell curve of LSAT takers with the self-selecting group of TLS posters (i.e, high-scorers) and suggest that you're likely smarter than 99.2% of them, you're an idiot. And obnoxious as hell.

I said my score was more than likely higher consider there are only .7 % that could have done better.

i love you guys : )

I just want to help those who don't fully understand the market or realize how truly horrific some schools employment prospects really are.

True, I may be more risk averse than the average poster, but why would anyone with a decent moral compass stand idly by their keyboard and allow someone to blindly make uninformed decisions that could ruin their lives?

You come off as a condescending prick, and thus, you're likely to reinforce their decisions rather than change their minds.

In my short experience, i've already helped to persuade one fellow TLSer to pursue other opportunities. But you're right, I'll cool it.

I apologize to all whom I may have offended!

Withdrawing from the W&L waitlist; still going to ride out W&M and UNC. I'll keep people updated on movement.

As OP, I'm very sad to see what this has become. I'm hoping Monday brings lots of WL movement so we can get back on track
