It's provably too soon to get anxious about this, but the C/O 2016 Waitlist thread ended in such a dreadful way "Hello....Is anyone left in here..."

Does Stanford email or snail mail WL rejections or is the absence of a phone call the only metric that tells us we've been rejected? Does anyone know?

on the bolded. Do you know when the first WL movement was reported in that thread?

Last year first post-WL acceptances started going out around late June.

In past years there has been WL movement in late-May. I think it just depends on how many spots are available and what Faye wants to do.

They usually don't do big waves though. It's a trickle here and there unlike Harvard.

I haven't sent one yet. I think if you have something worthwhile to send, send it. If it's just fluff, don't bother.

Out of curiousity, where did you get late May from? In reading the WL threads from the past three years, it seems like WL movement doesn't start until mid-late June (late June last year, early July in 2012, and mid June in 2011).

I think you're right. I went back a bit further than you did. This girl got off the WL in May: http://lawschoolnumbers.com/hermione0901. But, at least according to LSN, she seems more like the exception than the rule. June/July appears more likely.

I think someone already did and claimed that they were going to start looking at files around late may, and that they would likely not make any calls until June.

I'd be super thrilled if I got the call, but currently (after having sent in my Loci) i am just going to pretend the waitlist doesn't exist so I don't stress out about it.

I'm going solo or randomly-assigned roommate so I don't feel bad bailing on anyone . I also don't have to sign the lease until end of summer. Once that happens, I don't know what I'll do

Yeah I applied for solo housing so that way if I do get in I won't have to screw anyone

I would attend. I got some pretty interesting advice from an attorney I work with -- if everything else lines up financially (meaning I would get decent financial aid from SLS), he suggested that I swallow any costs associated with breaking a lease etc. I agree with him because in the grand scheme of things, even a couple thousand dollars is a worth a chance at my dream school.

+1 Law school is something you only get to do once. I'd really hate myself down the line (especially if I didn't wind up in CA), if I turned down Stanford over a few thousand dollars when I'm already going this deep in the hole.

I would send one update to let them know you're interested and one if you have something significant (new job, honors at graduation, etc.) to add to your file. I would not send weekly e-mails referring to Stanford as heaven on earth and your lifelong (and weekly-renewed) dream of attending. I think after the first I-will-always-love-SLS letter, they tend to lose their appeal. YMMV, though.
