Re: Chicago Waitlist c/o 2017
I've been checking it pretty religiously and no movement for me either
what is the likelihood that they won't take anyone from the wait list? I feel like that has never happened before :/

Pretty low. They'll probably just wait until late summer and admit only a few people.lemons wrote:I've been checking it pretty religiously and no movement for me eitherwhat is the likelihood that they won't take anyone from the wait list? I feel like that has never happened before :/
I've also seen no movement.

It's weird that no one had been accepted from Columbia and Chicago off the waitlist. Wonder what they're plottingBrettanomyces wrote:Pretty low. Yeah it is totally odd.... this time last year people were being interviewed and there were already some acceptances. But I'm still optimistic

I sent an email regarding Waitlist Status and got a response that the numbers for the incoming class are "pretty firm". Also, according to the response typically if there is movement on the waitlist it doesn't happen until some point in September. So...uhh...yeah...I don't know how many people can actually wait that long...

I went UR today too, but I can't see how this could be a good thing for me. couldn't do the interview and did not follow up with any LOCIs.

Also UR. I haven't been checking the status checker much, what was it before, waitlisted?
Anyways, honestly not convinced it means anything. Though it would be kind of interesting if it was a result of me emailing them (yeah right...). Maybe everyone else can email them too and ask them for an update/more information? Maybe it will put some pressure on them?
But come on, September? Don't classes start before then?
@Serett how long you gonna stay on this one? Doesn't our orientation start on August 19th? Would you uproot from Durham to Chicago if it happened?

UR today (well...technically yesterday), as well. No interview, one LOCI. Not particularly optimistic, and pretty set on where I'm going, but interesting nonetheless.

Re: Chicago Waitlist c/o 2017
Classes start September 29 which is definitely much later than other schools so they're probably in no big rush considering there's more than 2 months before the first quarter starts. Even though it's inconvenient for those on the waitlist still very interestedHahalollawl wrote:Also UR. I haven't been checking the status checker much, what was it before, waitlisted?

What happened last year? Does going UR generally mean you're being considered or do you think they're culling the wait list? I'm UR but I have bad stats for chicago

Re: Chicago Waitlist c/o 2017
If I remember correctly, a UR wave preceded a round of interviews, which preceded a couple offers going out. But I would check last year's thread. It was certainly much earlier in the summer - after which point I didn't really follow the thread, so maybe there was a UR wave after that that was mostly dings. But it's going to be highly dependent on how many spots they're looking to fill (if any) - not necessarily consistent year-to-year given the small class size.bincognito wrote:What happened last year? Thanks! Skimmed last years thread and you're correct but I didn't notice any ding wave (emphasis on skimmed however)beepboopbeep wrote:If I remember correctly, a UR wave preceded a round of interviews, which preceded a couple offers going out. According to the email I received, "Typically if there is movement on the waitlist it doesn't happen until some point in September". Was this not the case last year?beepboopbeep wrote:If I remember correctly, a UR wave preceded a round of interviews, which preceded a couple offers going out. But I would check last year's thread. Re: Chicago Waitlist c/o 2017
Considering most other schools start before then, I can't believe that would be the case. And it definitely was not last year. My waitlist offer came in early July and another TLSer got one the same day.Hahalollawl wrote:According to the email I received, "Typically if there is movement on the waitlist it doesn't happen until some point in September".
