If there's no info re: scholly in the acceptance email, do we just assume we didn't get one... or do they dish those out later?

Was this email in response to something you sent them? The Dark Kite wrote:Sike, JK. I just got an email saying that they start doling them out end of January. I got the same email this morning (was admitted via email yesterday). It was just a typical email with financial aid/scholarship information I assume they send to all recent admits.hos9903 wrote:Was this email in response to something you sent them? The Dark Kite wrote:Sike, JK. It seems inconsistent. Someone earlier ITT brought up that they were UR for less than 24 hours, so some people might think that they go straight from complete to decision made because they don't check their status during the possibly extremely short time period during which they were UR. But it's also possible that some people go straight from complete to decision made. I had one complete date change before I went UR a few days ago.rutgers17 wrote:anyone have any insight about app complete vs under review? it appears not everyone who got in went under review. am i understanding that correctly? my date was just changed to today, but im just complete, not UR. I went from complete to decision rendered, and I'm an obsessive status checker.lawskewl13 wrote:It seems inconsistent. Newton area closest to law school best if you dont have a car and dont want to rely on BC shuttle (runs back and forth from main campus). Try newton centre. Otherwise Brighton has affordable places to rent for students. Allston too. Brookline is also close but can get expensive.

So I have absolutely no ties to the Boston area (I'm from the midwest). Would I be at a major disadvantage when interviewing for placement in Boston firms, either for SA or associate positions, if I went to BC? In other words, would they consider me a "flight risk" despite indicating my interest in building a patent law career in Boston?

Not from the area either, but I've heard that Boston is built a lot on who you know. I'm sure someone can chime in and verify this or not.mx23250 wrote:So I have absolutely no ties to the Boston area (I'm from the midwest). FWIW, I can only speak outside of the legal market:Attax wrote:Not from the area either, but I've heard that Boston is built a lot on who you know. This is 100% true, I believe. Went to school in the area, out-of-stater, impossible to find a job out of UG.

I wonder whether apps are down significantly again this year.
Not sure if this is an indicator, but the 2016 BC applicants thread had around 27 pages by this time last year, this year - 6!
I know that I am trying to draw a conclusion from a very small sample, but it still does make me wonder...

Absolutely. But, it's fairly easy to build those relationships once you are in Boston if you put some effort into it. I came to Boston with no ties, networked during UG and had no trouble finding employment.Attax wrote:Not from the area either, but I've heard that Boston is built a lot on who you know. Decision rendered for me too. Didn't have movement since late Nov, then UR a week ago, now DR today. Weird! LSAT 25th, GPA 75th. We'll see!

FWIW, last tuesday my status showed "decision rendered" and at 2:55pm CST I got the acceptance email. Good luck!AndiDail wrote:Decision rendered today... (Complete 12/18; UR 1/14)
