johannalee wrote:When did everyone who got in apply? My application was completed in early January and I still haven't heard anything =( It was "In review" for like 2 months and then I emailed asking and suddenly it was still in review but the date had changed (indicating that they looked at it) and then I got an email about an interview. Did that a few weeks ago. I've already heard from everywhere but Boulder is in my top 2!
Just took a chance and e-mailed them....we'll see how this works out!!

Which class did you get to observe?
I observed a property rights class at 10:30am.
I did too!

I think everyone who sat in on a class on Friday was in a property law class, but there were several different professors. That is what the girls working registration told me.

I was there and actually really enjoyed all of the panels and the reception afterward. I thought addressing the CU question robustly was a good move personally because it was a question that I was curious about. If people have specific questions about ASD, I'd be happy to answer. Overall, I was most impressed by the friendliness of the faculty at the reception and the camaraderie among 1L classmates that I saw at the class I observed.
What do you mean by the "CU question?"

What do you mean by the "CU question?"
As in "why choose DU over CU?" and/or "are DU students competitive in the Denver legal market with CU so nearby?"

Definitely a question I've thought myself. Anyone care to share DU's main points and your thoughts about them?

Woops I posted in the wrong thread! I was accepted to Denver and got a decent amount of money, but I called since I got full tuition to Indiana - Bloomington which is ranked higher and they said they could help me out. However, I applied for the Chancellor Scholarship, so let's hope that works out!
Also, on that note, anyone heard back about the Chancellor Scholarship?

I'm also waiting to hear back about the Chancellor's Scholarship. They told me that decisions would be made and we would be notified by the last full week of this month, sometime around the 24th. Good luck!

I was at the ASD on Friday as well. The panels were okay, but I think the most helpful was the reception afterward. Since I'm looking to pursue a somewhat uncommon route (a joint degree), I was able to get a lot of my personal questions answered at the reception. And, generally, I think the reception helped me to get a better understanding of what DU is, culture-wise.

What's the deal with DU falling in the rankings this year? They'd been steadily rising the last few years. How are the rankings figured anyway? Seems pretty arbitrary to me, especially when you get below the top 20 or so. Denver's a great school either way.

I agree. I was surprised to see them drop and, to be honest, a little disappointed as I intend to attend there. I did a heavy analysis of the major firms in Denver and looked at where most of their Associates came from. With the exception of Gibson and MoFo, Denver was tied with or took the lead compared to Colorado. The only other competitor was Texas.
Though... I intend to go into government work. Anyone have any insight regarding whether these stats might apply to the AG or other government jobs?

But apparently they've "exhausted" their scholarship funds...but they can reevaluate May 1st.
Sad to say Denver might be off my list.

Anyone have the latest employment info for Denver Law? Anyone have how much of the Denver market they hold? WUSTL just bumped a lot of people up including myself yesterday, tough choices ahead..

My wife and I made the decision yesterday, I'm coming to DU. We're moving to Denver in June. Who else on this thread is for sure going to Denver next year?

Wait listed, but withdrawing soon. I got into CU-Boulder (miracle), Applied mid-feburary, heard back a few weeks ago.
3.8 degree GPA/3.1 Cumulative GPA/155 LSAT/somewhat non-traditional student. PM if you want more detailed info. If you really have something special anything is possible. See my above stats. I've gotten into schools I had no business getting into. Good luck.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
