Hey! I got my letter today too! Did they tell you are a "very strong applicant"? I think it's kinda a crap shoot who gets in when there are so many applicants coming in right around median. Don't let it bother you. I don't even mind- I already decided I wasn't going to go there, so it's cool that they don't really want me there either lol

Congrats to everyone else :D
Yeah it was the same letter, and after looking at LSN a little more I think it may have something to do with the date when I applied (late). I'm not worried too much about it, just a little surprised. Virginia is supposed to be for lovers, but they aren't showing me any love - waitlisted or held at Mason, W&L and W&M. I genuinely thought I had a shot at all of them, especially George Mason, but such is life. Good luck to those left standing and those riding the waitlist.
I applied almost a week after you did, also a non-trad, also from a similar UG. Might be something to that.

What I'm seeing on LSN is that GMU seems to have roughly a 161/3.0 floor. Looks like the only way to get accepted if one of those numbers is below the floor is to do significantly better on the other score or be a URM. In other words, they're being very splitter and reverse splitter friendly. You and I are both above one value (but not significantly) and we fall just slightly below the other, so we got waitlisted. Seems like they're trying to bump their numbers, but focusing more on the LSAT.

Will you be waiting out any of the waitlists? I'm withdrawing from GMU. Good luck to you, and anyone else with an app still pending or waitlisted! :)

My app will be going in right at the end.

I am definitely a non-trad, and I am hoping my Feb score will keep me above the apparent floor you referenced. Although I am not a URM, I am a veteran, and a ton of work experience. Hopefully it will be enough to get me a shot at PT program.

Hey haus!

I'm not sure how that floor applies to PT, but last year's entering class had higher numbers in the PT division than FT. Not sure what that means for your chances, just pointing that out...

Good Luck! And, of course, thank you for your service. :)

The PT program appears to be rather small in recent history, making it difficult to know what is really important. The percentage of admissions out of total applicants is small enough that I understand it is an uphill run, but long odds and hard work have never bothered me much. So I will give it my best shot and hope for the best.

I am actually above both of those. I have a 163 and 3.25. I think I am going to wait on the waitlist for a little longer, especially for WUSTL since it is a top 3 choice for me. I have an offer from UGA that is really appealing and I am waiting for a likely WL/rejection from BC before I make any more decisions on who to withdraw from.

Yep, that's my mistake. I wasn't certain of the GPA floor so I kept changing it. Settled on 3.3 though, but failed to edit it back.

Either way, I think you should be able to make it in off the WL. Send them a LOCI soon! Good luck :)

I got 8k and the same ridiculous conditions, and they also said 50% of the people with the same award last year lost it? Or something to that effect. Weird. Has anyone started negotiating at all? I have a feeling they won't give much more...

Checking in here, applied late (2/24ish) but this was more of a safety school so I just got in via email (I'm an international student so they probably don't call us). No mention of scholarship $ though, did everyone receive this info in the admit package or what's up there? Also hearing about these stipulations, seems pretty strict. Not cool, GM.

still haven't heard anything new...got rolled over from early decision into general application pool. Not sure when to expect an answer in my situation but I really want to put my seat deposit down at catholic since they gave me an awesome scholarship with a 2.0 stipulation which is insane.

I got an email today with an acceptance. I was really surprised since I submitted a little over a week ago and just got the email that said it was complete yesterday.

The e-mail said they would be calling soon. Will I hear about scholarship info then or will I have to wait untilI get my acceptance packet?

I got the acceptance call today! Unfortunately, I couldn't answer. They did say I would be receiving a letter with scholarship info in the voicemail. How inappropriate is it to call and ask about the amount? I don't think I can handle waiting for it in the mail.

who cares if you ask? what are they gonna do? reject you? you are already in with scholly, they won't hate you for asking a question.
