For those who have been accepted, did your online status tracker change from complete to accepted or was there a middle step on the tracker where it said under review?

There was someone who posted earlier who had a 2.9, but had a >75th LSAT. So there is some splitter love happening...JRO1989 wrote:Yeah that's how it seemsgrungy89 wrote:So nobody with borderline numbers has gotten a decision yet, right? Just the people with high numbers?

I went complete 10/28.. but I live in Florida (I was forced to move from the homeland). Do they review residents before other (less important) people? I should have maintained my residency :'(

Can you give some more information on the full-ride? Was it one of those scholarships were you just qualify automatically just by submitting an application? If so, could you give your numbers and any other relevant information?JazzOne wrote:A few years ago, I applied EA, and I was held over for regular decision. I ended up getting a full scholarship. You're still in the hunt.grungy89 wrote:did not make early decision today, held for further review.
Also, did it include housing as well, or was it just tuition?
Sorry for being so curious. I am a texas-resident, and I've always loved UT. I have kind of been thinking I wanted to go somewhere out of state, but a full ride to UT seems like it would be hard to pass up...
Also, if you don't feel like sharing so much over the internet I understand. I just thought I would ask!

Hey everyone just wanted to check in! I'm a Texas resident, and was recently accepted.
I applied right around 09/14, and went complete a week or 2 later.
Was accepted via phone call 11/26.
I'm not sure who it was, but she told me they would be sending out scholarship stuff seperate from the admission packet. She said it would be a couple weeks
LSAT is 170
GPA is 3.91
I'm not a URM, but I think I have fairly above average softs.
Also, there are 19 or so people on the admitted students facebook page.
Good luck to everyone! I wish you all the best of luck

Mine was in the second paragraph of the admission letter from Dean Ingram. That was also where the non-resident tuition exemption was explained.HYSenberg wrote:I got my letter in the mail today, but no mention of $$. Do they mail scholly decisions later?

When Dean Riley called he said that scholarship decisions would be based off my application as well and would come "later".ScottRiqui wrote:Mine was in the second paragraph of the admission letter from Dean Ingram. I believe Scott's situation relates to him applying ED and qualifying for the ED scholarship automatically.

Re: Texas c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
I didn't get the $10k ED stipend, because that's for Texas residents. The scholarship that was mentioned in my admission letter was for $1k/year. Possibly my scholarship was small enough that it didn't require further consideration/approval, and that's why I received it already?HYSenberg wrote:I believe Scott's situation relates to him applying ED and qualifying for the ED scholarship automatically.

Re: Texas c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Yeah, I'm just guessing, too. I actually had a little bit of a heart attack yesterday, because my tracker went from "admission granted on 26 November" back to "currently being considered for ED". And this was after I had sent in the LOI and withdrew my other application. It went back to "admission granted" this morning though, so I think it was just a database synchronization issue.HYSenberg wrote:Ah okay, I was definitely postulating haha. That's so cruel haha. On another note, their residency office seems to be incompetent. It took them a month to reply to my submission of instate documents and they told me to upload a certain document, linking me to a page where that exact document was already uploaded (and had been there for >1mo).

If that's the case, I call BS on that person..... or median gaming. Would a T20 really auto admit someone who was lucky to graduate college like some savant tommy boy? Like really?BVest wrote:It was a 2.6.Austinbound wrote:There was someone who posted earlier who had a 2.9, but had a >75th LSAT. The 2.6/170 is me. I guess Texas *is* "median gaming" in the sense that the only reason they took me with a sub-25th GPA is that I also come with an over-75th LSAT. And don't forget that once you're below the 25th, it doesn't matter to their medians how FAR you are below the 25th.grungy89 wrote: If that's the case, I call BS on that person..... or median gaming. Lastly, my uGPA is is almost twenty years old at this point, and since then I've gotten a master's in physics with a MUCH better GPA, and have been in the Navy for almost twenty years. Perhaps all the "holistic review" and "looking beyond the numbers" stuff isn't all BS?

Whatever you say, elvis costello. Nobody here can verify it anyway. Congrats on your admission to UT.ScottRiqui wrote:The 2.6/170 is me. Re: Texas c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Oh get fucked buddy. This is not remotely surprising considering that he EDed and 170+ scores are pretty damn tough to come by for non t14 schools. I ended up with a ~60% scholly (of in-state) last cycle with the same LSAT score and a well below 25th GPA.grungy89 wrote:Whatever you say, elvis costello. Nobody here can verify it anyway. You'd just have to be pure stupid to think this guy was lying. Coming in to shit on his parade was very helpful, kudos.
Just saw you are the same moron who likes Dallas but hates Houston and Austin. Glad to know that I'll never have to run into your dumb ass at my school.
/late-night memo editing rage.
Edit: Oh my god you are one of those idiot reverse splitters who refuses to retake and now you are bitter that they admitted him while your tiny pink LSAT couldn't get in. I hate everything about the person you choose to be.
