Spoke with admissions today about a number of questions and was told that the 142 entering class size last year was not an intentional reduction but a result of reduced applications. Sounds like less people matriculated than they expected. 50-60 less than the intended class size is a bit worrisome to me.

I want to ask other schools the same question now.

That's not bad at all. I think it's a great thing. Davis' standards didn't fall. Smaller class size means more resources for the entering class. I bet you the employment stats for that graduating class will probably be good. There are way too many lawyers and not enough jobs out there. It's not like Davis is all of a sudden a way worse law school now that fewer people matriculated.

Just got an email about the admitted students event April 4-5. AND they're offering a travel stipend ($150). I'm going to take advantage of that!

Wednesday still counts as "early" in the week?
Toe-tapping.
C'mon Davis.

Ditto. So happy about the travel stipend! I didn't know public schools offered them and I will be flying in from the east coast to attend so this significantly reduces my expenses. Looking forward to it.

Are there distance requirements on the travel stipend?
Some stipends like this require out of state travel or a minimum of 150 mile roundtrip....

We have to pay $30 to apply for financial aid. Irony abounds.

At least they accept the fee waiver for applications from LSAC. There's a hundred dollars to Stanford I'll never see again.
If Need Access nets me a couple grand, I'll find a way.

Applied 11/13
Complete 11/20
Still waiting for a decision!

Davis is a reach for me (really low GPA) so I was expecting an auto-ding decision. But come on, sitting on my app for 3+ months is just not cool, NOT COOL AT ALL.

Complete 12/04 and I'm far from an auto-ding.
Still waiting. Called politely today and told to look at the status checker. The frak you think I do, every day at 6pm?
You're not even at the top of my list, Davis, and you treat me like a bitch wearing Gucci that her daddy bought.
You didn't earn that!

I have the same complete date and I'm also still waiting. Davis is the last decision I'm waiting on and it's slowly killing me inside...

Do you mean between Davis and Hastings? I got dinged from Berkeley during the bloodbath on Tuesday, taking them out of the running. I am more partial to Davis because I'm an alum and I really love it there. I've even studied in the law library and I know the area well. It also doesn't hurt that the cost of living is much lower in Davis than SF. I guess it's just a matter of who offers more money? Though I'm willing to take Davis even if they're a little more stingy than Hastings on my aid. Assuming I get into Davis that is.

So the familiarity is a big factor for you in Davis over Hastings huh?

They're really taking a long time though. I'd like to get in to visit and then see if they offer me good money.

Yeah, it is. Their bar passage rate and higher ranking also give them an edge. Job prospects are pretty dismal across the board though so it's just a matter of level of debt and comfort. I'm not a big fan of the Tenderloin.

I was so naive, I thought I would have a decision by February. Now it's March. Davis. is. so. slow.

Yea it is really slow..wonder when they'll let us know. I do like the Davis campus though to be fair.

This is two years old, but it seems to be a good indicator of when we might be hearing back

http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=191559

4 posters were accepted in the first week of March, 4 more in the second, then 7 in the third. Considering TLS is a small sample, it seems like the third week of march gets a big surge of acceptances.
