It's time to start talking about the important things. ie, where are the TLSers meeting up for drinks on the Saturday of ASW?

Grendel's Den is supposed to be pretty fun, but might be packed on a Saturday.

I love Grendel's--if I'm remembering correctly, all the food is half off after 8 or 9. I don't know if I can make it to the weekend, but it's a great meeting place if you don't mind some noise.

Grendel's is great! It might be a bit crowded, but is right in the square so we could easily move elsewhere if necessary.

Has anybody's status checker not been updating? I sent in my college certification, final transcript, and seat deposit. I called and they said they had received my college cert. A week later, my status check hasn't updated at all.

Anyone know if it's possible to register for Admitted Students Weekend via email/phone call? I really want to attend the first ASW but haven't received my HLS email yet so can't register on the website. (Admitted 2/5). Seems like it takes a few weeks for people to receive their HLS email after admission, from what I've read in the threads.

If only. Their need form is pretty detailed, and you also have to submit your parents' W2 forms and signed copies of their 1040s. There seems to be a simpler form for people who know that they won't get grants, though.

Didn't realize until just now that both parents' information is required even if they're divorced. It's bad enough trying to get my mom to do her taxes before April, and she's the responsible one. The nightmare begins

My divorced parents are equally disorganized -- they both usually file in August...

If combined parental income is $200k+ there's no point in me filling out Need Access whatever they need in addition to the FAFSA right?

Might not, haven't looked too deep into their specific requirements, just assumed they did since that's what Stanford needs. Edited my post to clarify.

full disclosure, im still a js1 waiter here haha im just trying to get all my documents in a line bc id like to hear back on need $ (in the event i get in) prior to early april scholly deadlines at other schools.

I went through the whole thing last week. You fill out a preliminary form and your answers to that form determine what other forms you fill out. I already had all the info I needed b/c of Need Access (terrible, btw). Basically know everything about yourself and your parents (income, home price/payment, cars, retirement plan, and tax forms). Like I said, a lot of it overlaps with Need Access. Let me know if you have any other specific questions.

They do require your parents' signed 1040s and w2s. The best way to do this is electronically through their secure upload system. They don't ask for your tax forms at all (kinda weird, but they explain by saying they base it off of your summer income and other things...).

Nope--you upload them as PDFs. Your parents will have to print out, sign, and scan their tax forms, anyways.

Not what I wanted to hear, but I appreciate it, haha.
So what do I do in lieu of a W-2 for a parent who owns a business? Was there any information on that? I couldn't find anything when I looked.
Never mind. Skimmed over this the first time but found it this time:

If your parents' do not have W2s we will remove this as a required document once we receive the Federal Tax Return (1040) and verify there is no amount reported for "Income Earned from Work".
