Is the spreadsheet updated as a result of the recent withdrawn applications?

This is a good point. It would be great if people could make a note on their entry when they withdraw.JXander wrote:Is the spreadsheet updated as a result of the recent withdrawn applications?

I think residency is already included, but why uva could be helpful!

OMG I just realized the waitlist update enail was the big Dean Richard newsletter. I responded with a very short note saying I wanted to remain under consideration. The note began "Anne," (!!!!!!!!).

I want to put your mind at ease.
Dean Richard (Anne) had her full, professional, tag at the bottom of the e-mail. The one that states her position, employer, number, whatever.
However, that tag was just her auto signature, she actually signed off her message with a simple "Anne". No title, no last name, nothing. In e-mail etiquette this is an invitation to use that name with her in future correspondence.

Did anyone receive a confirmation email after responding to Dean Richard's wait list update email? I have not and was a little concerned.

I went ahead and added these. Getting a lot of columns lol but the more data the merrier for future applicants (and those still waiting!)Big Dog wrote:how about adding instate or OOS, and whether the original app included a Why Uva?
Worthwhile to add undergrad? It's in the Harvard one, but then again, HY seem to be the only schools that actively give a boost to Ivy undergrads. Historically it doesn't seem like UVA cares. Maybe add Ivy undergrad to notes if you want??

I also said Anne, since that was how she signed off.

I just sent mine, and I immediately got an out of office reply that says to contact her again on or after April 15.djlmjs22 wrote:I did not receive a confirmation email eithertjmaciv wrote:Did anyone receive a confirmation email after responding to Dean Richard's wait list update email? Yea, I got an e-mail saying she's out of the office until next week.
It says to contact her again, but I don't think that applies to us. She must be expecting our letters.

Monday begins wait list season. I wouldn't blame them if they are taking a three day weekend.shifty_eyed wrote:I just sent mine, and I immediately got an out of office reply that says to contact her again on or after April 15.djlmjs22 wrote:I did not receive a confirmation email eithertjmaciv wrote:Did anyone receive a confirmation email after responding to Dean Richard's wait list update email? Well, that's a fair amount of time to go by without confirmation. Seeing as how she's been attending to her e-mails and sending out more recently. I'm not sure how to proceed. Perhaps a call would be informative?

This is when phone communication is most appropriate--avoid any further confusion and just call the office.

Re: Waitlisted at UVA c/o 2016
If you are referring to the wait-list email, then this is actually quite the contrary. The email's instructions stated to send a quickly reply to the message if you were still interested. It would seem exceptionally overzealous and unprofessional to not follow those instructions. Additionally, seeing as how the school has wait-listed a incredible amount of applicants, it's understandable that they may have not sent the confirmation email to everyone yet. A little patience might be okay here.Rory19 wrote:This is when phone communication is most appropriate--avoid any further confusion and just call the office.
