I plan to after I graduate in a week so I can combine it with a "Here's some more information about why I'd be a great addition to your school" update. And then maybe again if I'm still on the list later in the summer. Maybe that second one won't help much, but it seems like a number of schools suggest doing something to show them that you're still on the waitlist for a reason.thelawschoolproject wrote:Is anyone sending in a new LOCI? After I was held I sent one in, but now that I'm waitlisted I'm not sure if that's advantageous or not.

I worked out some (probably useless) stats on the list we have so far. Let me know if you want to see them and I'll figure out how to post it here. Didn't want to post my ramblings if it wouldn't help at all.

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2012
Have you seen some of the theories we've come up with so far to explain this mess? You could have calculated the median birthweight of all applicants on the wait list from 1970-1979 and people ITT would want to see it.yepyepyep wrote:I worked out some (probably useless) stats on the list we have so far. the only thing i could conclude form the WL spreadsheet was that harvard once again was not playing when it came to gpas...the average gpa from the spreadsheet is 3.77. the non urm av is 3.79 and the urm average is 3.71...but thats not surprising at all

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2012
hahahaha fair enough.
I was looking to see if the waitlist pool was relatively stronger GPA or LSAT compared to the target numbers they have. And also compared to last year to get a sense of whether the pool was worse this year or not. Also wanted to just get a count of how many "similar applicants" we have. So I got the 25th, median, and 75th for the entire pool and the nonURMs. I also took the value of the product of GPA-LSAT to try and see where each applicant stands with a combined measure. So if you take your GPA and LSAT, multiply it, you'll get a relative measure to compare to others. This is not very helpful (Since we don't actually know Harvard's index).
2012:
''''''''''''''''LSAT GPA Product

This might be a little depressing to think about, but wouldn't it make sense for there to be no movement until after May 16th? Since we know that there's a good chunk of recent admits with that as a deposit deadline...

That being said, I really think there's not going to be movement until the week of May 14th or May 21st. Both for historical reasons looking back on their timelines, and for the most recent deposit deadline. I think we can all relax for this week.

haha. After 2 months of nearly constant panic waiting for H and S to get back to me, I'm relishing in this 10-14 days that I'm not expecting to hear anything from Harvard. Of course once the first KB1 is posted I'll go back to freaking the fuck out, but until then I'm trying to keep my blood pressure reasonable.Elendil wrote:I mean, when you put it that way...Doorkeeper wrote:I don't think it's depressing at all.Elendil wrote:This might be a little depressing to think about, but wouldn't it make sense for there to be no movement until after May 16th? Re: Harvard Waitlist 2012
With Harvard anything can happen...usually WL-KB1 emails go out in the 1st or 2nd week of May. Last year they started on the 3rd but due to the Dean Shuffle that Harvard was doing that was likely not going to happen. 2 years ago they started on the 6th even though a few didn't get wait listed until the 10th. But we don't know if there were various deadlines for that cycle.
They could have calculated something from those who had the May 1st deadline...i don't know how many people had the May 15th or 18th deadline. Also given that these people had other school deadlines to meet, some will probably get back to Harvard before the deadline.
In summary..anything can happen but i would def not put money on this week ( but i stop making bets a long time ago)...even though it would be great to get a WL-KB1 soon

Oh no, I doubt that will happen. So I don't think she took any steps towards cleansing me and was only telling me what she'll do - IF I pay her

If I see a wave of KB1s, and none of them is for me, I'll go and pay her for a cleansing

For people wondering about sending in LORs, I had an alum send one in for me and it showed up on my status checker even though he didn't go through LSAC - he just sent it directly to the Admissions Office.
