95K here. The break down is 90K from the Chancellor's Law Scholarship and 5K from the Dean's Leadership Award.

I didn't even bother opening the two letters until now as I thought they'd contain brochures.

One details the award, the other goes more into depth about the leadership award.

Checking in! I was away all weekend and all this movement happens! In Canada so I'm hoping to find a nice surprise in the mail at work today!

Also RE: March ASW. Who is up for going out St. Paddy's day and doing it Nashville style?

ETA: GOT THE MAILLL! 35k per YEAR!!! Plus a Deans Leadership award of $5000 for the first summer for a total of $110k! CRAZY!!!

Got $50,000 by mail a few days ago. I read somewhere that they don't negotiate scholarship offers, can anyone confirm this?

Ahh, thank you fingerscrossedxx, someone with their priorities straight! Ha, I will be hitting Nashville for the St. Patty's Day celebrations. A good buddy of mine lives down there and said he'll show me around, but I was curious as to what all of you were thinking before I committed to that.

Ohh yes, and for scholarship matters: received 60K yesterday (NE Ohio)

For the more neurotic people already thinking about how to pay for what the scholarships don't cover, just called Vandy -- they said the financial aid packages (loans) will go out at the end of next week, provided you already filled out your FAFSA.

So apparently stuffs going down in Nashville next weekend so hotel rooms are scarce. The Bennett Conference center they recommend for cheap rooms is all booked up. If anyone else also waited till last minute check out Music City Hostel in Nashville. Dorm beds for $25/night and it's walking distance from the law school.

OK I consulted with a friend from Nashville and she recommended Bosco's - its a brewery and they've got brick oven pizza! And its right by Vandy.

What do you guys think of this place for a TLS round of beers Sat afternoon?

Whether or not I'll be there on Saturday is debatable (I have a meet-up later that evening). If I can be there, that sounds good.

Checking in! The 75k scholarship is making me SERIOUSLY consider Vandy. I love Nashville and the campus. Anyone think 75k at Vandy trumps potential sticker at Cornell or GULC?

I have a similar scholarship at Vandy (65K) and I am also faced with GULC sticker -- from everything I've seen on TLS and other employment data it seems Vandy is the smart choice generally with the scholarship, but there are variances depending on your specific situation. What do you want to do? Where do you want to work? If you're looking at public interest or government work, GULC is probably the better choice. But saving 75K (and potential even more just because of the COL difference) is probably the smart choice otherwise.
