Uggh... this is going be a long, nervous wait for me with my numbers. Hope some you with $$ at Kent get into some other schools...

Rest assured i'll definitely be withdrawing once I decide on some of my other options. And negotiate $$ to my fullest potential.rma wrote:Uggh... this is going be a long, nervous wait for me with my numbers. Hope some you with $$ at Kent get into some other schools...

Just got accepted...on a saturday? I'm not complaining about it, though. Packet coming sometime next week, hoping that it has some good scholarship news. 60k and i would really have to sit and see how my cycle goes. But 90K and i probably would go there.

Good job!!! Especially on the scholarship money! I got deferred on Saturday, but I'm still hearing back from 5 other places so I'm not discouraged haha since it's not a rejection at leastmattviphky wrote:Just got accepted...on a saturday? I know you applied to a number of Chicago schools...but quite honestly, you should probably retake. I took a year off and retook my lsat. I originally had a 155, so not much higher than yours. With that score I was rejected by DePaul, UIUC, Kent, etc. But I retook, and now DePaul accepted me with 60k, I was at least wl'd at UIUC, and who knows what Kent will throw my way. It was definitely worth it too study for a few months, chill and work, then get ready to go back to school refreshed. I'm not trying to be critical, but I think that you could easily get a 160+ on your lsat if you really studied. I know your not supposed to discuss this in these admission threads, but the T2 chicago schools seem to be a losing bet for a majority of students. I'm not saying that they are bad schools, but this is a bad economy, and they are horribly overpriced for what they sell you. I think DePaul is a good school, but is it worth 180k?! Retake, get a good scholarship, and then make a decision.

Haha, wow, thanks for your advice, but the last time I took it it was my second time. It's alright, I applied to some state universities (and Michigan State being one of them), so I still have plenty of options, and I'm confident in my decision to go. I've done quite a bit of research. Good job though, improving your score that much!mattviphky wrote:timetopretend wrote:Good job!!! Especially on the scholarship money! I appreciate it. Actually I took 3 times, though. That's fine, I hope you get some good news this cycle. Have you considered SIU? It is a really low priced option and does very well in downstate Illinois placement. I assume you are from IL based on your school list. SIU and NIU would be good (and cheap) options.

Checker updated with scholarship info. "Full Tuition Renewable." Holy crap. Thoughts on this vs. 75% at UIUC for intended PIEL postgrad work?

In at Loyola Chicago today. With my numbers, I'm surprised. Maybe that will mean good things in terms of a Kent acceptance?

it's not what you think it is. i'm just trolling to get people who are on the fence about UIUC to not matriculate. I'm held and I need all the help I can get from UIUC. it's all in jest, thoughomninode wrote:Get the salt.mattviphky wrote:SHUT UP, GAIL!!Gail wrote:UIUC.

Just got my scholarship letter in the mail... 60k no stipulations, may not be withdrawing after all. It seems as if most scholarships these days are either guaranteed or virtually guaranteed for three years. Smart move on the schools' part(s), b/c they now realize that applicants are smart enough to say, "Uh...thanks but no thanks."PizzaShrapnel wrote: Just got my scholarship letter in the mail... 60k no stipulations, may not be withdrawing after all. Re: Chicago-Kent Class of 2015 (2011-2012 Cycle)
just noticed my scholarship amount posted on the status check page. 18k year. Uh, what? I didn't even know that they handed out a number like that, I'm so used to seeing 60-75-90k. 54k seems a little weird. Definitely going to negotiate. But I LOVE that there are no stips. I guess its good news, just not what i was expecting. I really do appreciate the starting price, now let's haggle.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
