summer program at Texas Tech?
I just updated my status checker to see that they have sent my app to a different commitee. The summer program(at Texas Tech) for potential students who exhibit qualities the school appreciates, but do not have the numbers..has anyone else had the same response???
I applied on 11/15, and went complete 11/16.. I have been on review since 11/22..seems like a long time to me, but it is sooooo worth it!

I am in the same boat, I'm being considered for the Summer Entry Program =/ Do you know how long it takes for them to make a decision? It's like we are in review and have to wait...again! I was complete 11/11/11 (you think that would've brought me some luck!)grsyangl wrote:I just updated my status checker to see that they have sent my app to a different commitee. Waitlisted about 10 days ago. Status changed again today. Apparently they are mailing out a new decision letter today. Gives me a bad feeling for sure. I hadn't even sent in my LOCI yet. I was still editing it! Seat deposit shows -1.00.

Numbers? Is Tech high on your lists? Good luck, and hopefully you guys are accepted!grsyangl wrote:I just updated my status checker to see that they have sent my app to a different commitee. Re: Texas Tech 2012
Tech is probably my top school right now. I have a GI bill that works for state schools and I don't want to move to Houston, and I doubt I would gain admittance at UT Austin.

Oh did you know that if accepted to the summer program you get a $1500 stipend?

Ok, so I received an email from Dean Perez announcing that I've been accepted! Definitely pleased to get such a quick turnaround from the waitlist. A little scholarship money to get me in-state tuition could easily help make Tech one of my top contenders. I really want to visit the campus. It looks beautiful online.

Re: Texas Tech 2012
you guys that just got in are lucky ducks!!!
. I agree with ladyjustice--it's like we are in review all over again, but I will take whatever I can get.
congrats nimchow!!! i really hope i get in too. so, listen to this, (so to speak) I applied with Texas Southern(late oct) and my status has not changed since it went to committee 3 days later! My ADHD is kicking in, and I emailed the Dean of Admin with an additional letter or rec, and loci..dont know why, just got anxious-i think-either way, the status changed from sent to committee to decision mailed-2 hours later!!!!
what is the possibility that this is bad news?!? I have heard some horror stories about people submitting paperwork without being asked, and totally losing their chances of getting in...Tech is my first choice, but every acceptance is awesome, and every rejection hurts! bbbad!

Decision made and letter sent. No email or phone call, seat deposits are still at zero, kind of assuming it is a denial.

Is anyone planning on going to any of the admitted student days?

Re: Texas Tech 2012
Got an email with $1000 scholarship. That was a must to consider Tech and it has helped make this school probably my top choice out of schools to which I've been admitted.
I would also like to know when the admitted student days are. I would be interested in flying out for that.

The best part is that the stipulation for a $1,000 scholarship is just good standing. I'm actually leaning towards Tech over Nebraska at this point. If I don't miraculously get into Utah or Kansas, a Red Raider I will be.JerichoJohnny wrote:Got an email with $1000 scholarship. I'd likely be the only Idaho native in our class. Anybody want some potatoes?

Re: summer program at Texas Tech?
I'm in the same boat, SEP consideration on my status checker as of 01/19...I really want to get into Texas Tech, but trying to stay patient/positive because I know nothing is for sure. Good luck to you, I'll let you know if I hear anything positive (i.e. If the ball starts to get rolling on acceptances into SEP)grsyangl wrote:I just updated my status checker to see that they have sent my app to a different commitee. In today via email. However, there was nothing discussing scholarships in the email and I thought for sure I would get one. Do they offer scholarships at a later date or in your official acceptance letter?
