When is everyone sending in the dean's certificate? It will probably be 2-3 weeks before I go complete, should I just get the certificate done now or wait til I'm closer to being complete?

If you do have to submit one, I would do it ASAP.

Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
You know, I looked on the Cornell website, and nowhere is a "Why Cornell" essay listed in the required materials.luxxe wrote:Are most people just writing the 1000 character essay vs. the unlimited Why Cornell? I'm 4.0/169 & will be applying EA. Is there any conceivable benefit to the longer essay?
Then I looked at the PDF of the paper application and noticed that they only provide 3 lines to answer the question, with no mention of attaching an extra essay.
So I'm not going to write more than a few sentences, since it would probably just sound contrived if I did.

Alright, app officially submitted just now, so this is me checking in.
177/3.2
Anyone have any idea how they'll feel about me? I couldn't tell looking at LSN.
Good luck everyone!

See, I was confused by this because if I remember correctly the language implied that you could have a decision before you even submitted the certification.luxxe wrote: "A Dean's Certification is not required as part of your application for admission unless you answered "yes" to question 22 on your application."
If you do have to submit one, I would do it ASAP.
I think it went like this: "If you do not submit a Dean's certification form by June 15th we reserve the right to rescind your offer of admission."
Or do they require a form from all accepted students?

Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I had to send in a Dean's Certification bc I had a violation... I actually had it sent in before my application was submitted and they emailed me notification of adding it to my file, etc. I would do it ASAP if you have a violation, esp. because you never know how long your school is going to take with it.buckythebadger wrote:When is everyone sending in the dean's certificate? Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Hey guys, I am looking at the requirements for applying EA, and it states that the application must be submitted by Nov 1. However, it also states that "any application complete as of November 15, 2011, will be considered for our early action process."
I am waiting on one last letter of rec from a professor, which I expect to have complete by Nov 6 or 7. I will send the application as soon as it's done. Will I still be able to apply EA? I'm a little confused about what the terms "submitted" vs "completed" mean in their instructions.
Thanks guys.
Also, 3.55 and 170 here, any idea how that will fare?

Hey had a quick question. How much does applying EA matter? It looks like a large percentage of there class is getting in from EA and this looks to be my only shot at a T14

An application may take two weeks after it is submitted to go complete. Since EA requires you be complete by Nov. 15, this means that you should submit by Nov. 1 in case it takes that two weeks to go complete.tjtorrence wrote:Hey guys, I am looking at the requirements for applying EA, and it states that the application must be submitted by Nov 1. Yeah, I just won't have the second letter of rec in, which is needed to meet their requirements. Should I submit without that letter and wait for it to arrive in the meantime and make note of such? Or wait, and apply RD? I won't have that letter done until the first week of November.UnamSanctam wrote:An application may take two weeks after it is submitted to go complete. I'm unsure. I mean I suppose the worst they can do is hold you over until RD, right?tjtorrence wrote:Yeah, I just won't have the second letter of rec in, which is needed to meet their requirements. Yeah, I don't want to apply with an incomplete app and screw my whole thing up though, hah. I will call them and see what I can do under the circumstances. Thanks for your time, man!

In meaning in the thread, and "in" the pool of applicants. In a few months, "in" will mean something different. However, most of us use "accepted" in that case.MiamiOxford wrote:In?lrslayer wrote:in on 10-24.

Hey, everybody. I'm planning on applying EA with my 167/3.96. Hopefully I'll have a shot.
I'm still waiting for my recommendations to be received by LSAC. What do you think is the latest that those could be received at LSAC in order to be received by Cornell by Nov. 15th?
