i got the same e-mail - and i told them about the mixup that i was still interested - they placed me back on reserve. incidentally, what is the difference between first and second reserve??
first e-mail notifying me i was no longer considered was yesterday. letter putting me back on was today.
all of this for me.
Same thing happened at NYU. These NYC schools don't know how to run a waitlist. Or don't like me.

Got the rejection letter today, too. In the Mid Atlantic region by the way, for those keeping track.

Just got rejected by snailmail by CLS.
For comparison to those still waiting for acceptance/reject/2nd reserve, here's my application profile:
GPA: 3.94
LSAT: 167
Background: Jewish, Ivy Leaguer
Extracurriculars and Summer Internships: Strong
Phi Beta Kappa
Magna Cum Laude

Ding in Missouri. I'm a second time applicant (stayed on the waitlist until middle of August last time). I guess this year they just liked me even less. Ah well. Good luck to everyone else who's waiting!

Just opened the letter right before going out for my birthday dinner. Knew what it said anyway, so now I just wish I didn't have to walk past the mail pile today.
Oh well, thanks for the kind wishes, Columbia. I'll try not to cry until later when I'm really, really sloppy drunk.

If you don't mind sharing, has any ED applicant been rejected so far? My numbers are far lower than most of the people getting rejected, so I am wondering if the only reason they're keeping me on reserve is because I was ED.

I was ED deferred to RD. Waitlisted at the end of April and received a rejection letter dated 6/3/2011 via snail mail. 166, 3.7, Ivy, non-urm, grad degree, good work experience.

Ok, thank you for sharing and I hope you had a good cycle otherwise.

I took the LSAT this week and plan to reapply next year. This cycle was brutal for me. Rejected at georgetown, duke, nyu, stanford, harvard, and berkeley. WL to reject at CLS and still WL at Northwestern. All were obviously reaches... but I thought I would eek in somewhere... apparently I was quite delusional,

.
Best of luck to you!

I totally feel what you are saying. It's good to know that there are a few of us out there with decent credentials that didn't get very far.

another ding here. part of me is suprised because i made it to third reserve last year with a much lower LSAT score - but a bigger part of me is just relieved. i heard back from Chicago this week and i'm 95% certain i'll be enrolling (just waiting on financial aid) - it's nice not to have the other C as a distraction anymore.
good luck to everyone still standing!
