This was to be expected by this point in the cycle. I assume a few more spots will open before orientation though as people get accepted off wait lists at better schools.

How long do you think you will stay on the wait list? I love UVa but I have to start making plans at some point, somewhere...

That email reminded me to actually withdraw from the waitlist, since I've been in law school for two weeks now.

is there anyone on this thread that is an extreme splitter (sub 3.1 GPA and over 170 LSAT) and has obtained acceptance into UVA?

Congratulations! it does seem that they are accepting mostly reverse splitters off the waitlist, this cycle. Enjoy Chicago!canes wrote:Just got in off the waitlist today with 60k... Reverse splitter here
I'll be mulling it over, but I'm still leaning with going to UChi, so expect a seat to open up

Congrats! I'd love to have your spot at UVA if you choose to go to Chicago. *wishful thinking on my part*canes wrote:Just got in off the waitlist today with 60k... Reverse splitter here

Still on the waitlist for UVA. Got a new lsat score, a few points higher (reverse splitter)
How do I go about updating them with my new score? Just email? or what?

I'm petty sure LSAC will send them an updated report.treeborn wrote:Still on the waitlist for UVA. Got a new lsat score, a few points higher (reverse splitter)

Yes, LSAC probably will send an updated report. It probably wouldn't hurt to email UVa admissions though just to give them a heads up about your new score.Gecko of Doom wrote:I'm petty sure LSAC will send them an updated report.treeborn wrote:Still on the waitlist for UVA. Re: Waitlisted at UVa
Has anyone been dinged off the wait list lately? Anyone have any inside info regarding whether the wait list is still huge or a lot smaller now?
I'm just surprised I haven't been dinged because I've sent them countless LOCI's and they never seemed interested in me
I'm a reverse splitter. My GPA is above median but lower than everyone else I've seen get in off the W/L

I'm wondering the same thing.
Also, does anyone from last cycle know if UVa ultimately notifies those people on the waitlist that won't be getting in?

Re: Waitlisted at UVa
Just got thrown off the WL via e-mail from Anne M. Richard - Senior Assistant Dean for Admissions.
She noted:
"Thank you for your patience during our wait list process. This was the most difficult year on record in which to gain admission to Virginia Law. I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you a place in the entering class.
I hope you excuse the informality of this communication, but I thought you would appreciate speed over formality at this point in the season. In addition, we are communicating almost exclusively via email now in an attempt to reduce our reliance on paper. "

I did not apply to GW. Find below the captioned thread. I don't have any [GOOD] reason to make this up:

Appears the poster who said Richard was the Dean at GW decided to delete their post.

My bad. It is the same Anne M. Richard. She just switched from GW to UVA in the middle of the cycle. --LinkRemoved--
Anyway, sorry you got dinged.

No, he's not. He got a new job working for the law school foundation or something, as a fundraiser it would appear.ttf1867 wrote:Is Trujillo not their dean of admissions anymore?
