I'm new to this forum but I have been following this thread for a while. Has anybody heard anything yet? I just received notification that a decision has been made today (3/21/11) and it is going to be sent out soon. I am almost sadly positive that it is going to be a rejection letter. Good luck to everybody else who is still waiting!

Nope, I've been on the wait list for at least 3 months now (applied in November) and haven't heard anything from them. Any idea when the 1st deposits are due for accepted students?

In today via e-mail. I'm quite excited about this. It isn't a high ranking school, but still has very good placement in Texas. And its cheap.

They are due April 1, but if you attend ASD on April 2 they move back the deadline to April 8 I believe.

Tech takes forever but hang in there. I almost withdrew. Then my status changed to decision render and then I got an email saying I was in. There is still hope.

I'll be there Saturday, not Friday.

Do you mind sharing your stats? I'm kind of confused because I am well above their 75th percentile in both categories and my dad and uncle both went there.

Just an FYI. The Texas Tech Board of Regents has announced the tuition hike cap for Tech Students. The cap is how much they could raise tuition and fees(historically they raise it the maximum).

The incoming 1L class will be subjected to a hike of up to 26.33% on tuition and fees, thats a jump from about $18k to over $24k. Those coming this weekend I STRONGLY encourage you to bring up the issue.

At the law school: a tuition increase of $100 per semester credit hour, plus new law school fees for classrooms, technology, and legal fees will total $36 per credit hour.

161 and 3.82 so well above both as well. I applied early and I think it made a difference because it seems that they lowered the offers substantially as the cycle went along.

Ask what $4000 more gets you.

If you really want to get them, ask how a diminishing legal market warrants rising tuition costs.

That would put them on the spot. I was pretty set on tech, but not so much with the huge tuition hike. The increase would only make lsu a little more expensive for me.

I'm serious though. Since I'm not able to go this weekend :( will you at least ask politely what the 4K "gets" us or does for the school??

Yea I will if I find a good opportunity to do so. I also want to question them about their "value" claim now that they are comparatively priced to the other texas schools.

Congrats! I had a 161 and 3.9, so now I'm a little bit pissed off  . ASU is looking better and better.
