What were your stats? Also, do you have any advice for someone on the waitlist or did you do anything you believed helped? Finally, how did they contact you? Sorry for all the questions....thank you very much!

I have been on the waitlist since December, as well. I received an e-mail a couple weeks ago asking if I would like to remain on the waitlist, but did not receive the e-mail today you are talking about. What exactly did it say? Thank you so much!!!!!

Re: Catholic University 2011
basically the gist was that they are re-evaluating candidates from the waiting list and that my file is back with the admissions committee. before they can move forward though they need to know my current intentions, ie IF they offered me a spot would i a. accept it and b. be willing to pay a seat deposit within 48 hours. it specifically stated that it wasn't an outright offer yet. i have to email them back and let them know by this friday.waitingandoverit wrote:I have been on the waitlist since December, as well. This is good to know. Congrats - are you thinking of accepting? Also I'd like to know your stats if you don't mind.erparr wrote:basically the gist was that they are re-evaluating candidates from the waiting list and that my file is back with the admissions committee. before they can move forward though they need to know my current intentions, ie IF they offered me a spot would i a. accept it and b. be willing to pay a seat deposit within 48 hours. it specifically stated that it wasn't an outright offer yet. i have to email them back and let them know by this friday.waitingandoverit wrote:I have been on the waitlist since December, as well. Re: Catholic University 2011
yeah it was a little strange but i guess it's a good sign. 158, 3.37 from william & mary (class of '09), white female, applied in early november, i've had some good legal internships/jobs. i also visited the school after i was waitlisted (i live in DC already), so i think that probably helped. i am definitely thinking of accepting, as of now i'm going to ole miss but i'd like to eventually end up in virginia or DC so catholic would make much more sense for me.save the world wrote:This is good to know. It was due in May. I think they are the only school that had the second deposit due in May...atleast from the schools I looked at.blerner1 wrote:Was the 2nd deposit due June 1st?

Re: Catholic University 2011
in off the waitlist early last week, and i accepted. so on a related note, i'm now looking for a roommate and an apartment. not sure if any admitted students check this thread regularly, but i thought i'd atleast give it a shot. i'm 24, female, already living in DC but originally from richmond, va. the lease for my current house is up this summer (and i live with 3 other girls, all with jobs- i'd really prefer to live with another student) so i'll be looking for a new place to move into anytime in july. i would like to be on the red line (chinatown/gallery place hopefully but i would definitely also consider woodley park, cleveland park, or van ness). i'd prefer to be with another girl. if anyone sees this and is interested, message me!

Called today, apparently they're still filling in the class with wls but will obviously keep some just in case for the duration of the summer.mimi82 wrote:It was due in May. Re: Catholic University 2011
I received an email this morning that sounds very similar to the one erparr received, posing a 'hypothetical offer of admission' and asking me to let the Admissions Committee know if I would accept. Has anyone else received an email or notification of this nature?

I got the same email asking if I would accept earlier this week, and two days later an official acceptance. I will be at CUA in the fall! See you all there.

Re: Catholic University 2011
So, the email asking if I would say yes, if I was given an acceptance, came on Thursday last week, the real acceptance came yesterday. I have 48 hours to put down my deposit or I lose the seat.
My stats are~ 153, 3.7 (Penn State) Double major, honors, traveled and study abroad, lived in Japan last two years working, white 24 year old female. I want to work in DC after school and my family is in Maryland so happy it worked out. I was accepted into a few others...Hofstra, Richmond, Pacific...but I think CUA is going to be where I end up.
Good luck to you! I hope that it all works out!
