I realize we're going way off topic, but nobody here seems to mind ... any of you know what it's like to get in-state tuition after a year?
and thanks for the coffeeshop suggestions!

I don't know much about the actual process, but none of my undergrad friends from out of state managed to switch, and the difference is pretty big.

I know that in Pennsylvania you have to have lived there for a year prior to enrolling to get in state tuition.

Almost impossible. You have to live in WV without attending a state University for 1 year before being eligible for in-state rates.

Its exciting to see a vibrant and active WVU thread. I prefer off topic to no activity at all, like usual.

I think the fact that small & mid law, solo practice, and gov jobs are the norm at WVU. On a "big law or bust" site, there is not much to discuss. However, I do appreciate the activity as well though. By the way, what kind of UG is everyone coming from?

MJP: I went into review on 1/18 and was accepted yesterday, so I would bet your acceptance will be by the end of the week. They will probabaly have to decide if you will get scholarship money too because your numbers are high enough to get something, at least thats what I am guessing. I was told I wouldn't get a dime by someone who used to be on the committee.

My undergrad is in Journalism (concentration in Public Relations) and I have an English minor. Haven't used it a bit since I graduated. What's scary is that I hadn't written anything of substance since college before starting the process of applying to law school. I'm trying to polish up a little before starting in the fall.

Kind of large state school of WV/NJ, but I don't have a degree yet.

Are you talking about WVU's HUGE Jersey population within the UG?

UVA is at the top of the list, but still waiting on gulc financial aid. Visited W&M today and really liked it. Uva tomorrow and w&l saturday. In at gw but its low on the list. I withdrew from wvu already. Their offer was surprisingly low, but I would've stayed on if I wasnt pretty sure I want towork in ny or dc for at leastj a few years.

I wish I hadn't applied so late. I went complete on 2/21 haha. Ohhh lordy. I'll probably be finding out like a day before deposits are due. I plan to visit the last weekend of March and hopefully I'll be in before that. I hope they are able to release scholarship information before my other deposits are due on April 1.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
