I'm half way wondering this, too. I mean, their grads are basically competing with Mizzou grads, but since Mizzou is public, it feels a little like comparing apples to zuchinnis...
Still, I'd guess Mizzou is their biggest competition. Other than that, it depends on where else you've been accepted to/gotten money from.
I'm still waiting to get my scholly info!

Ask and ye shall recieve--scholarship e-mail came in this morning.
Dean's Select Scholarship (75,000k).
Can't decide whether to go ahead and withdraw or wait until after ASW.

Well if you decide tell them to shoot that money my way! I talked to the admissions office and they said that won't be able to add any to scholarship until about April 1. That is when the first deposit is due, so they will find out how much scholly money is freed up when people withdraw.

But they said they will consider increasing offers? I received a mailing from them warning that they will not be negotiating scholarships. The seat deposit is much less than many of the schools I am looking at.. maybe it's worth putting the deposit down at SLU? Thoughts?

I imagine my scholly money will be freed up after ASW for ya'll. The parents are making me go to ASW, with the hopes that an afternoon there will make me fall madly in love:)

I'll be headed there! Hopefully it will be a good time. When I visited last it was late on a Friday afternoon so the building was kind of dead, so I'm excited to check it out this time. Will anyone else be attending?

Yes, I got $9k per year. I hate to be greedy but it sure would be nice to get more considering the cost of attendance and living compared with Mizzou.

I don't blame you. I don't remember reading whether or not you had in-state at Mizzou, but if you do have in-state I couldn't imagine passing that up if SLU is your only alternative. Either way congrats on the scholarship and good luck with your decision.

SLU is truly a great school. Driving in St. Louis, however, is not for me!

Ole Miss...SLU has a lot of things, but fine china at football games is not one of them:)
I actually ended up missing it (Mom and Dad finally admitted that no matter how much they love SLU, St. Louis probably isn't my cup of tea).

Congrats on making a decision. Something many of us still have to do.
Ole' Miss will be great too! Congrats on that.
Honestly, ST. LOUIS proper really isn't MOST people's cup of tea... It's not even close to my city of choice, but already living in the area makes SLU a very strong consideration for me.
I grew up here and let's just say that when I moved to Nashville after my undergrad, there was no "love lost" between St. Louis and me.
I'm still honored to have been accepted and offered a scholarship to SLU and at this point, it's still my front runner especially now that I'm on the mile long wait list for Wash U with everyone else.

No, I'm a Missouri resident, but you get Mississippi residency after one year, and even their OOS is rediculously cheap (only 4k more than Mizzou's in-state:)
I admit, it kinda' hurt to send the withdrawl e-mails to SLU and Mizzou...it felt like I was somehow failing as a Missourian. Still, I've been tailgating at The Grove since high school, so it's high time I actually go there as a student rather than (just)a drunk!
