Re: Brooklyn Law School 2011 Cycle
Just got in via email. Pretty happy. Will wait to see about aid before considering seeing as I have near full ride from St. Johns and WL from Cardozo. Also waiting to hear back from a few higher ranked schools. Can't complain though! Hope everyone else gets their decision soon.

ALSO, if anyone has twerski for torts next semester, I have the twerski/henderson casebook that the bookstore wouldnt buy back because the cover came off, but I'll sell the casebook for 20 also...you can get the binding fixed from kinkos or staples and the entire casebook will wind up costing you less than $40. or, you could just tape it and your casebook will only cost you 20

Wow that was fast! Is that how long it takes to get a decision from there on average?nicole88 wrote:I applied 1/13, went complete 1/24 I believe and got my decision tonight. Hope this helps!lawschool12345 wrote:those who got in today, mind sharing when you went under review?

Re: Brooklyn Law School 2011 Cycle
I'm quite nervous about Brooklyn, I've been complete since 1/13, and haven't heard a word. They are certainly one of my top choices, my LSAT is good but my GPA is abhorrent. It seems like they are taking a while with URM candidates who aren't auto-admits.
I live in NYC so I'm considering a visit to try and show interest.

Trade you some LSAT for a chunk of GPA.lawschool12345 wrote:ive been under review since 1/11 a 3.66 and 158, expecting a ding

Hmmmmm! I would have thought I'd get an answer by now with big scholly money. But, haven't heard yet. Cardozo accepted me with schooly and got in at gulc.
I was hoping for full scholly school at BLS. But, without a full scholarhip, I won't be going here.

On a more realistic note, I'm thinking of going to one of their info sessions soon. I don't think a word with any admissions officer is a sure thing, but it will make for a good "I visited Brooklyn and its my number one choice because of xyz" email / essay.
Edit: If anyone has ever visited Brooklyn for one of these sessions please feel free to share your experience.

My status checker says accepted. I am wondering about a scholarship though, anybody hear back from them yet regarding scholarship $? And if so, did your status say accepted WITH scholarship? That would at least prevent the letdown!

Re: Brooklyn Law School 2011 Cycle
Last year many people got phone calls a few weeks after being accepted, including myself, mainly I think to gauge applicants' seriousness in respect to attending the school. Scholarships, which I think are based mainly on LSAT/GPA and in small part on these informal phone calls, aren't awarded until afterward. I would expect scholarship info in late Feb - early March.

I don't get why some people get emails and others(me) are simply notified via status checker.shtolky wrote:Just got in via email. Pretty happy.
