For those of you who get the call Monday (hopefully all of you!) let me assure you that that strategy will serve you well at Chicago too.

So does anyone know what this means (in the RD or ED pool) or had an experience with this where they subsequently got a decision?

nihilism is key wrote:based on last year: phone call if accepted, e-mail if something other than acceptance (deferral, rejection, waitlist)
Last year Dean Perry would also sometimes email if she couldn't reach someone by phone, so don't freak out if you get an email from UChi on Monday!

No one knows. There was one EDer who got the date change, and a few in the RD thread. One person in particular has high numbers (I think he's in Harvard already), so maybe it's something positive? Though no one can tell you with any certainty what the date change means.

This is pure conjecture, but since UChi uses all paperless apps it might just mean that someone accessed your app to re-read it?

So I guess since UChicago hasn't sent out ED decisions on a monday in awhile we won't be sure of the times of calls? My money is still on after lunch.

once again, it's the day before decisions are due. should we, once again, start the conjecture and worry?

Sounds like a plan. So who was the user that's in at YH and what has their status checker done?

I'll be ready to be here all day tomorrow again!
I think it was oxford don or something like that. I think he's in at H. Also, I realized that it's his first UR update (he wasnt UR previously, just complete until 12/17).

I have absolutely nothing to do until my school goes back for sprint semester. Kind of getting bored now actually, gotta find something to do after I hear back from Chicago...

So... today is the day. And I remain the only ED applicant to be UR 12/17. Yup. Definitely time to freak out.

Wanted to take my LSAT approach of starting to drink at the earliest the scores were likely to come out that day but the phone calls thing kind of messes that up.

Edit: Aaand I seem to recall hearing about a blog post or something like that about Chicago calling someone to admit them and then deciding during the call not to? Anyone else know anything about that?

You must be having a nightmare, never heard of a phone call being reversed, hope you are wrong.
Could have been a crank call, I have so called friends who would think that was funny.

im absolutely sure it's possible to be immediately reconsidered, if you get a phone call. threaten the admissions officer; tell them how you lied on the application; or claim the holocaust didn't happen. any of those would probably do the trick. so, if you feel the urge to hail hitler, it might be a good idea to wait until after hanging up.

Intoxicated at 2PM on a Monday may not top that list but it seems like it may have a place on it...
