I'm also interested. For those of you who got in, when did your file Complete? Also -- is there another stage on the status checker after Complete (Accepted, Dinged, or Held)?hiddenfist wrote:Complete 10/5 and heard nothing = headed for waitlist?

This thread hasn't seen much activity. Has anyone in here decided to attend? I'm definitely leaning towards UT, but I'm still waiting to hear back from vandy and ucla.

Still waiting on a few others schools, but definitely strongly considering it.nonprofit-prophet wrote:This thread hasn't seen much activity. Has anyone in here decided to attend? I'm definitely leaning towards UT, but I'm still waiting to hear back from vandy and ucla.

Out of my acceptances so far, I feel like UT is the best fit. I'm still waiting on a few reaches but it will be hard to pass up the great atmosphere and low debt I would be getting at Texas.

Will be withdrawing and releasing a scholly for you guys next week. Good luck to everyone still waiting and everyone attending. From all accounts, Texas is a monster of a school.

Didn't realize this thread existed. Was accepted back in November and given $7k/year scholly from them. Unless I can negotiate for significantly more aid it looks like UT might not be happening for me.

In + 15k/year (already resident). I will withdraw if I manage to break T6.

I know scholarships from other schools can be submitted for matching, but does anyone know if scholarship amounts are basically correlated to certain LSAT/gpa combinations, and if so, can an LSAT retake be used to get an increased scholarship amount?

Re: IN AT The University of Texas Class of 2014
Even though you're already above median, a higher score could potentially have an effect on possibility of scholarship money. Even if it doesn't have a direct effect at UT, it could potentially help at other schools. Northwestern, if they do things like last year, will give out scholarship offers pretty late and they like to throw a lot of money at a few rounded (numbers wise) applicants. UVA handed out scholarships pretty late too. LSAT is usually biggest factor when it comes to money, but being above both medians (or both 75th %iles) puts you in the best position.leopardRAWR wrote:I know scholarships from other schools can be submitted for matching, but does anyone know if scholarship amounts are basically correlated to certain LSAT/gpa combinations, and if so, can an LSAT retake be used to get an increased scholarship amount?

Also, what # range of schools could you submit for matching? Do they have to be ranked higher than UT?leopardRAWR wrote:I know scholarships from other schools can be submitted for matching, but does anyone know if scholarship amounts are basically correlated to certain LSAT/gpa combinations, and if so, can an LSAT retake be used to get an increased scholarship amount?

My GPA is currently under their 3.6 floor for scholarships (already accepted OOS w/ 174 LSAT) however my gpa by graduation will be 3.6+ do you guys think they would be willing to make me an offer at that point or will the money be gone/they will have no interest/it will be after the deposit deadline.

Checking in
. Admitted in late November and have since gotten a T6 admit, but UT is nonetheless attractive to me. Definitely going to ASW.

Re: IN AT The University of Texas Class of 2014
I'm really lost about finding housing - I've never visited Austin and if it's anything like my college town just googling apartments won't necessarily be reliable.
Do any of you know apartment complexes or districts that most law school students stay in? Do the student tend to be spread out or would it not be a big deal if I were in a nicer albeit more distant apartment/house?
Thanks in advance.
I might defer but Austin is definitely still my number one.

I would also like to attend ASW but it's during the same week as Penn's.

If you are looking for a nicer apartment complex, a decent amount of law students live in the Triangle: http://www.triangleaustin.com/innernetp wrote:I'm really lost about finding housing - I've never visited Austin and if it's anything like my college town just googling apartments won't necessarily be reliable.

There are nice but cheaper options in the hyde park area, which is just north of the law school. Houses can be the best deal, but those can be harder to find especially if you aren't in Austin. I wouldn't recommend living too far away though, since Austin traffic is the only thing about this city that I don't like. Living 10 minutes away could turn into 30-40 minutes in rush hour and rush hour seems to happen randomly with no real rhyme or reason.
