So now my application goes back to the bottom of the nonresident pile for reevaluation. FML.
Ugh I'm sorry. I'm sure it'll work out though!

Grats, if you have any questions about UT or Austin, feel free to ask. Life long resident and UT alumnus... will do my best to answer them.

Anyone else here not heard back that has been complete for a while? I went complete mid september, and haven't gotten a hold email and I certainly haven't gotten an acceptance (or a rejection). I'm wondering if I'm not the only one, and if they're sending the hold emails out in batches. Which would be profoundly cruel, since they have to know that applicants discuss this stuff online, but whatever. So, anyone else still waiting, grasping desperately to shreds of hope?

Don't get too stressed, they are probably just holding so they can compare you to the new pool. That means you are borderline rather than straight no.

With your numbers, I wouldn't expect a rejection. Are you a texas resident?

I actually submitted my ED form to UVA the night before I received the hold e-mail. Keep me posted on how you fair at UT.

Awesome, I'm sure it's a decision that will serve you well. Also, I imagine your dog will like Charlottesville.

Can anyone offer any insight into whether it would be better to apply now to catch the EA deadline, but with only 1 LoR, or wait for another LoR (or two) and apply RD?

Does the Texas admissions letter mention the scholarship offer, if any?

They told me that official scholarship offers will be made in a "couple" of weeks. Not sure if that means exactly two weeks or whether she meant it as a general "soon" type thing.

Got my package yesterday, 2 letters, no mention of scholarship. Since I was told on the phone, I guess it will come separately, later.

The generic UT visitor guide was pretty funny. Other than that not much in the package. Did notice that more than half of new Professors are Harvard grads.

In the "Where our graduates go" (or something like that), they labeled Hong Kong and Shanghai wrong (switched places).

Yay! I'm not the only one staring at my phone all day, waiting for a call. I'm non URM, non-resident, regular decision/EA, complete as of 9/24 and not a word from Texas (or any other school for that matter :( ). I'm right around both 75ths, so I'm hoping I'm not being saved and compared with the next batch. Any way... this has me wondering if there's something grossly wrong with my apps that I missed. But whatever...
Good luck to my fellow desperate applicants! Hopefully more calls are made tomorrow. That'd be a nice way to start the month! :D

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
