They'll waitlist anyone that is near the 25th percentile so if that happens your best shot is visiting campus and essentially state how much you wanna go there.

and what are the 25th percentiles? The website only has medians... and I'm below both!

They don't post the percentiles on their website but lawschoolnumbers.com has a rough estimate under the school profile and it seems like a lot of people below the medians got waitlisted according to that site.

I disagree

I was outright dinged with a 3.34 166 + 2 years of legitimate work experience post undergrad with a Fortune 20, good LOR's and I wrote the optional ethical dilemma essay.

Pretty surprised I wasn't even able to muster a WL.

That surprises me a lot. I'm expecting the same result, but with a 166 I wouldn't have. I wonder if something went wrong with your application-- a bad LOR or something? Seems bizarre to me.

I got placed on the waitlist with 3.7/164, military experience and three years of tax law experience with the IRS. Apparently this whole law school application process is pretty competitive. W&L??? More like WL. Am I right? COME ON!!!!

Sorry about the dings and the waitlists guys. Law school apps are a crapshoot for sure. Keep your heads up, though.

For those that were accepted, did you all write the optional ethical dilemma essay?

I wrote it because I thought it would show I was sincerely interested in W&L.

I didn't either, but I included a solid why W&L paragraph in my PS. Hope that helps!

Yea that was my thought but if it's a bad LOR I am screwed because I used the same two for all of my apps. I wish there was a why field so they could tell me why I got dinged.

I did not, but my PS sort of addresses an ethical dilemma anyway.

I was admitted and I did write the essay. It was only a page or so, but it also functioned as a "Why W&L?"

I did not write the optional essay either, but I thought my numbers were pretty good for W&L. If you're borderline numbers-wise I would absolutely write the optional essay.

IN!!!!!! first of the cycle.

The whole process took about one week and I did not turn in any of the optional essays. Makes me wonder why other schools cant be as quick.

I was thinking about joining the admitted students page of FB and probably will eventually.
