What do you guys think my chances of acceptance are with a 3.39/165 - "other hispanic" - years work experience ?

I went to IU for undergrad and I am very familiar with Maurer and their admissions standards. I happen to know that they basically accept anyone who is at or above their median LSAT (164) as long as your GPA isn't horrendous, which yours is not. That seems to be the #1 standard for what they look for, so I would say you have a great chance of getting in. It's a great school and Bloomington is a great area to live. Overall a very progressive school that is rising in ranking and reputation. Good luck!

Any idea of when decisions could be coming out?

Looking at last year's thread it looks like acceptances come through priority mail. Last year they got complete emails on November 9th saying they'll get a decision in 6-8 weeks and people started getting packets around Dec. 16th. So it seems like they are following the same pattern as last year since I got my complete email on Nov. 8th.

I got the same e-mail as a lot of folks, saying that it would be 6 weeks or so. Seems like we're getting close to that time when acceptances should be coming out.

Anyone know how generous IU is when it comes to financial aid? I talked with an admissions guy at the LSAC forum and he said "I'm sure you'll like our offer." While its comforting, its not a very helpful answer.

Does IU only notify via snail mail, or is it likely that they'll also email?

Last year they notified through priority mail until it got to about April and then they started emailing acceptances since it was so late in the cycle.

Hi all, quick question:

I very recently received an email urging me to apply with a potential full ride scholarship and offering: "We will give your application expedited review"...

Has anyone else seen anything like this? I had been debating applying because I recently received a fee waiver.

I just got that email today, too. I also have been debating applying but definitely will now after the e-mail. Did a lot of people get this?

I got it too. Kinda surprised as my numbers are not that great by their standards (165/3.6) but oh well, it worked. I'm going to apply now.

Does anyone get the feeling that IU is going to be late in sending out decisions compared to last year that already saw people getting their decisions as of yesterday?
Also to those that got that email can you copy and paste the exact email just for curiosity?

Thanks alot :) I called this morning and they said decisions won't be coming out for the next two weeks for those that applied in september. Also, they said they havt sent any decisions yet so I'm a tad bit confuse about that guy on Lsn who claimed he got accepted on 12/03.

I have to choose between them and Wake and honestly despite the ranking difference, Wake is looking more appealing by the minute. My theory is that maybe, just maybe they are not getting enough applicants compared to last year when thier decisions went out much earlier. I could be ver wrong though.

That seems likely if they are starting to send out cooley-esque "we'll give you a scholarship" letters.

I know right, that's exactly what I was thinking. They seems desperate at this point yet still they taking forever to send out decisions.

I feel like an idiot -- 166, 3.5 and they didn't even respond to my fee waiver request.

Maybe you have a hidden one. Did you check on lsac? They would be crazy not to give you one when they accept people with lower number than that. Call the office and make sure they got your email.

Hmm, maybe he got into IU-Indy and was confused? I guess I'll stop anticipating a letter from IUB in my mail. Boo. I agree those emails make it sound like they've seen a drop in applicants this year.

And ixwad, definitely check for a hidden waiver! I had one and was never invited to apply (not that I gave them much time...submitted late September).

Maybe he was accepted last year and deferred to this year? No clue though as I am too lazy to go look into it.
