Yeah....thats a tough 25% to crack though....im sure they are not all URM....but a good portion + legacy...wish you all the best and their is always a chance...the main argument was though....you have a great shot of acceptance even RC with a 167 and a 3.0 then with a 165 and 3.75----which shows it really is a big numbers game there.....

these people do get accepted, and they are not all URM's.

Re: Notre Dame 2014 applicants
Wasn't the 8 week mark for those who applied on October 1st a few days ago? I have to admit I'm becoming less impressed with the school the longer they keep playing with us. They say all over their website to apply early but why bother if they're going to wait to see who else they get thereby actually hurting those who took their advice? I hope all the speculation is wrong and they're not turning into another school of disappointed Harvard applicants. Good news is they are contractually obligated to get back to the ED people 2 weeks from today.

How were you in anyway hurt by taking their advice? And how is ND playing with you? It's barely December, and typically schools send out decisions in December-January. I will concede that I need to relax, but the whole point of applying early is that your story and your angle is fresh right? They're not worn out from reading hundreds if not thousands of applications so reading yours sounds more persuasive. Now the ED folks are being re-read, which is generally considered to hurt one's chances.

Re: Notre Dame 2014 applicants
Just becasue you apply first doesn't mean you are entitled to a thing....and, I can pretty much gurantee they didnt read a single application (at least nothing more than sorting them according to LSAT/GPA) until mid-November when OCT LSAT takers could apply....the thing I dont get about this thread is why people feel entitled to get accepted becasue they applied early (as in Oct 1 as compared to Nov 20) they want the best class of people possible to start next August---you will hear from them (if accepted or an ED applicant) by x-mas....relax and you should have a good idea if you will get accepted before x-mas---very unlikely anyone without at least a 165/3.85+ will be admitted eaither ED or RD though....

I believe you're over-thinking this quite a bit.andythefir wrote:I will concede that I need to relax, but the whole point of applying early is that your story and your angle is fresh right? Where did you get 165/3.85 Snape? That GPA is way above their 75th.

Seems like EA applicants started to get decisions right around this time last year, but who knows how they will handle things with ED this year.gz5hc9 wrote:when will we get decisions?

Re: Notre Dame 2014 applicants
People like me have been wigging out because last year there were waves of notifications on 11-2 and 11-14 that didn't go out. In other words, all the data points over the last few years are worthless. My personal bet is ED and regular applications will go out together (which is pretty objectionable in my opinion: folks who applied ED gave up the ability to negotiate, seems to me they ought to get something, anything in return), and they will arrive either the 14th or the 15th, the last day the ED contract says they're able to get decisions back.

A second data point appeared on the LSN graph, the last one was from last year and this one is hidden. Real and thus indicative of decisions on the way or another confused user?

I have not received a decision yet, but I did get a message from Michael Floyd yesterday asking me to purchase tickets to the Sun Bowl.

I received my letter today. I live in south bend so it only took one day to arrive. I was accepted (ed) as a non traditional international student with a 4.0 and a 164. I did not receive any financial information. Good luck to all, the waiting will be over soon.

Large priority envelop, not very thick. I submitted my materials close to deadline day and went complete on nov 1st. So not very early by ed standards.

This gives me some hope that I'll get a decision by the holidays, though it probably shouldn't since I applied rd.pk1 wrote:Large priority envelop, not very thick. I submitted my materials close to deadline day and went complete on nov 1st. So not very early by ed standards.

For those who were accepted, did they say when to expect financial aid packages to be sent out?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
