Just had lunch with my mentor and one of his old co-workers from when they were both working at their first firm together and I really liked what they were telling me about the actual work and how that specialization set them up very well for laterals and in-house transfer.

Can I ask others, how much are your career leanings swaying your choice? For example mine make Berkeley and NYU more appealing while Columbia is much less appealing

I need to move about. Was really hoping to hear back from a couple schools before the weekend. I still check my statuses out of reflex even though I know nothing's gonna change.Li'l Sebastian wrote:Then we'll start a movement!gamerish wrote:No movement on weekends.Applesauce11 wrote:Why?Li'l Sebastian wrote:TLS is dead.

Property. Specifically eminent domain litigation. My dad's been doing it my whole life and I've worked for him. I could probably work a case now and not make too much of a fool out of myself.Li'l Sebastian wrote:What fields do you guys see yourselves doing really well with and why?
Or IP. I'm an artist and artist's assistant and a lot of work I do for him borrows from other influences, so I understand the importance of being able to use the work of others to do your own work and the value of having your own work protected. I think since I'm interested in it I would do well.

Nice, very nice. This is a question they ask in interviews almost always.ProductofUnreality wrote:Property. Specifically eminent domain litigation. Makes sense. The only interview I've had so far was with Cornell. Super weird format, but I think it went well. Have you interviewed anywhere?Li'l Sebastian wrote:Nice, very nice. So the FAFSA will only let you add 10 schools, and I've applied to more than 10 and haven't heard back from several... there are a few that I can reasonably say I won't be considering, but I feel weird making that decision now when I still haven't heard from them (who knows maybe they would give me massive $$$ that would change my mind, or at the very least be useful in leveraging at other schools). Will it impact my admissions/merit aid if I don't add these schools to my FAFSA? For example, if I leave X off FAFSA, would they still consider my Need Access application for merit aid? Sorry if this doesn't make sense

Merit aid isn't the same as need based aid. I haven't filled out fafsa and have already recieved merit aid offers. You don't need fafsa to get merit aid.lemondrop wrote:So the FAFSA will only let you add 10 schools, and I've applied to more than 10 and haven't heard back from several... there are a few that I can reasonably say I won't be considering, but I feel weird making that decision now when I still haven't heard from them (who knows maybe they would give me massive $$$ that would change my mind, or at the very least be useful in leveraging at other schools). Yeah, I know they're different, I'm just concerned about whether it will have an effect on my admissions/chances of receiving a scholarship if I don't put them on my FAFSA. Idk it probably doesn't matter haha I just don't want to screw myselfProductofUnreality wrote:Merit aid isn't the same as need based aid. I don't know how it could affect your chances. I feel like if you don't put them on your fafsa it would be equivalent to not filling out your fafsa at all as far as the school is concerned. I don't think the schools know what other schools you put on it, especially if you didn't put them on it.lemondrop wrote:Yeah, I know they're different, I'm just concerned about whether it will have an effect on my admissions/chances of receiving a scholarship if I don't put them on my FAFSA. @FASFA question.
Process 10 schools. Once they tell you your app is processed and they generate a SAR(student aid report), which takes 3-5 days you can delete the schools and add 10 more and send that app to get processed. Bam. 20 schools now have a copy of your FASFA.
