Complete 11/3 and no word yet... very nervous about getting the mail today - I'll be out of town tomorrow until Monday so it'll be a very nerve-wracking weekend!

Re: UCLA?
still no mail. complete 11/04, should be an auto reject this cycle just based on the # being admitted/rejected. hoping for the best, expecting the worst.SanBun wrote:Another day of dreading opening the mailbox... after the wave of snail mail rejections for people complete early/mid-November, no news= good news
EDIT: anyone receive rejections/ acceptances today?

Re: UCLA?
Sorry if this has been answered, but what is the tuition increase for UCLA over the next 3 years because of the budget problems? Also, am I correct in that you can start out on non-resident tuition for your 1L but get resident for your 2nd and 3rd years? Thanks for the help; sorry I haven't been paying attention to this thread so far (50 pages is too much to comb through).

Re: UCLA?
In response to your first question: I emailed Dean Schwartz yesterday regarding this issue and he said CA residents could expect to pay 41, 46 and 51 respectively over the next three years. These were rough estimates of course.Jericwithers wrote:Sorry if this has been answered, but what is the tuition increase for UCLA over the next 3 years because of the budget problems? Re: UCLA?
I just received a call from a 312 number. I got all excited thinking, OMG this has to be the UCLA admissions office telling me I'm admitted.
it was my storage company calling to tell me I'm past due for last month. for some reason they use a 312 number. I live in chicago.
FML. big time.

I'm confused...the loop area code in Chicago is 312...

Re: UCLA?
ok everyone, please tell me the truth (and by truth I mean something positive): Is it safe to assume that they are deliberating on my app v. me being an auto reject? I have borderline/ auto reject (for this cycle) numbers and have been complete since 11/04, but have a truly amazing story behind my app (not exaggerating)
just asking since on LSN lots of ppl with my numbers, complete at same time as me or later, have been rejected in the past week, and now the flood of rejections seems to have ebbed off.
DO I HAVE A CHANCE???

I'm rooting for you, but we don't know your numbers, don't know your softs, and have at best an extremely dim understanding of the adcom's process. There's no way we can answer your query.

Re: UCLA?
Maybe. I'm in a somewhat similar position with my reach schools. No rejections or WLs yet, and I have a killer soft. Hopefully one of them will accept me so that I can buy into the holistic admissions approach that they talk about.SanBun wrote:ok everyone, please tell me the truth (and by truth I mean something positive): Is it safe to assume that they are deliberating on my app v. me being an auto reject? The trouble is that the front end of notifications are acceptance heavy. The bloodbath of rejections and WLs is about to begin in earnest, so I'm tempering my expectations.

+1, same situation for me. At this point, I took no news as good news.SanBun wrote:ok everyone, please tell me the truth (and by truth I mean something positive): Is it safe to assume that they are deliberating on my app v. me being an auto reject? Re: UCLA?
In via 26-second phone call from Dean Schwartz around 1 pm EST.
Out-of state, complete as of 11/17. No mention of $$, but that's not a surprise given my LSAT and the fact that I didn't write any optional essays. He said he'd mail a packet next week.
Good luck to everyone waiting!

Re: UCLA?
I applied back in October as a severe long shot (3.12(3.83)/162) and sort of forgot about my app because I figured I'd get an auto reject... but I haven't heard anything yet and there have been several rejections of people with way higher and similar numbers than mine that applied after on LSN.
Think I should call? I also sent out an addendum about my racial background and how it's affected my course of study to some of the schools I have a better shot at... think it's too late to send it in to UCLA and see what happens?
Or do you guys think my rejection just got lost in the mail?
(complete 10/30)

Re: UCLA?
I got the email saying they received my application and it takes "several weeks" to mark complete. Wondering just how long that's going to be!
