There are also instructions re: scholarship appeals on the admitted students portal. It lets you know the specific person in fin aid to contact. I heard back in less than 24 hours, but I think I was part of a wave of admits who all heard back at the same time last week. Got a no--but still worth a shot!Mr_Chukes wrote:Yeah it took a week and three days for me to hear back.Rigo wrote:The next day, but I think that was just due to timing being perfect.jdanz wrote:Did they get back to your request pretty quick ?Rigo wrote:I just emailed fin aid.mrtux45 wrote:Is there a specific form to fill out for scholarship negotiation or has everyone been emailing?

How much debt are y'all looking at if you attend USC? Trying to convince myself to go but the debt is going to be a bitch.

Yeah honestly you'll be fine with SC. Unless you want to practice in a different market.Assasindowntheavenue wrote:Fck 65k total really is beautiful. Good on you man!! Law Day will be my first time visiting CA, so I'll have to see if I like it. I'm a gun collector, so I'm not sure if the weather or money is nice enough for me to give up one of the few things I like to spend money on.[/quote]chargers21 wrote:
Unless you don't like the sun, the beach, great weather 99% of the year, hiking, shopping, and more, I think you'll like it. If you're worried about guns, plenty of gun enthusiasts in Cali lol. We just have rep of being more strict as a state but pretty sure you'll be fine. If that's the least of your concerns, I think you'll do great here. I should be a pitch man for USC/Cali schools lmao.

No offense guys, but I wouldn't recommend USC for a non Californian wanting biglaw.Mr_Chukes wrote:Yeah honestly you'll be fine with SC. I'm looking at $105k debt total. Less if I live somewhat frugally and make decent money summers.
That amount of debt still freaks me out though.

Debt honestly doesn't freak me out. Just motivates me to work hard so I can pay it off. I see it as an investment. Hoping to live healthy but frugal on trader joe's and limiting my drinks lol.Rigo wrote:I'm looking at $105k debt total. Less if I live somewhat frugally and make decent money summers.

It's probably an age thing too. I'm a tad older so I have a better grasp on the implications of being in the red and less time to pay it off before I retire.Mr_Chukes wrote:Debt honestly doesn't freak me out.
