If this is how UR1 feels, I am sure I will weep when I get a decision.

Went UR today after submitting a week ago. So is the general timeline about a month for a decision?

Could be as fast as a week if admitted directly by Dean Tom, or could take a month for FR.Gitaroo_Dude wrote:Went UR today after submitting a week ago. So is the general timeline about a month for a decision?

How long has it actually taken admits to receive log-in info? (will it actually take up to two weeks?)

It means he couldn't immediately make a decision on your application and it was sent to "faculty review" for further consideration (sorry, I think there's a better explanation somewhere in the thread). It's a good thing, you're still in the running! Any decision can occur after faculty review, but it is a decent sign and you'll find out around the date given.charles117 wrote:what does this email mean?

My best guess is somewhere between 1/8 and 1/4 chances of getting in through FR.

is that an improvement or a downgrade from my chances straight out of application? I had a 167/3.77 from berkeley undergrad and applied on jan 10th. I just cant tell if this is good or bad newsgoldenbear2020 wrote:http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 5#p9780235charles117 wrote:ah ok thanks. do you think my chances are better than a coin flip at this point?studyingeveryday wrote:It means he couldn't immediately make a decision on your application and it was sent to "faculty review" for further consideration (sorry, I think there's a better explanation somewhere in the thread). "Thank you for submitting an application to Berkeley Law School. We write to inform you that it was processed successfully and is now under review.
Our review process is thorough. Each application is reviewed holistically and several factors are considered. Given the large number of applications we receive, we request that you refrain from contacting us unless the matter is urgent. You may check your status here."
Is this a general "Your application is now complete!" email? I'm a bit confused about all of the different types of reviews Berkeley Law has going on.

Perfect! Is this the initial administrative or dean's review? How long does it usually stay under review?2000andBeyond wrote:Nah! It's actually under review now. I think they will notify the recipient at the same time as the other scholarships that required essays, which according to their website is mid-March I believe. I'm wondering whether receiving this scholarship would have an adverse effect on the normal merit aid you would receive. I.e., would they just reduce your merit aid award by the amount of the application-required scholarship?staypuff wrote:In other news -- did anyone else apply for the Hyundai Kia scholarship at Berkeley with their initial app? I haven't been able to find much info about the scholarship online and was wondering we can expect to hear back. Thoughts?
Cool... just have to keep waiting, I guess! My understanding from the website is that they evaluate merit scholarships separately from Application-required scholarships. But of course, if someone was given a huge merit scholly, and then was also granted a named-scholly, they would adjust so that the total funds do not exceed COA.
