I phrased that poorly and am gonna go back to last year's thread to check again for concrete examples so just disregard the comment in the meantimeKiltedKicker wrote:How do you know this? So it looks like there's been acceptances made on a daily basis from Columbia this week. Is anyone else expecting this trend to continue?

Checking in. Hi everyone!
Received an interview request from Columbia this morning. Getting a little nervous- it seems like a lot of people who've been receiving acceptances haven't interviewed. Fingers crossed!

Same: GPA=50th, LSAT>75th. Guess there is no Butler or Hamilton in the works, as it doesn't seem like those folks had interviews.pint wrote:Checking in. Hi everyone!

Re: Columbia C/O 2019 Applicants - 2015 - 2016
Looking at the Columbia spreadsheets from past years, it seems like most people were accepted in January, with a scattering over February and March. Not to be a total pessimist, but does this mean that not hearing anything from Columbia today (or Monday at the latest) means it's more possible you're dinged/wait-listed? Particularly if you interviewed in early January?
Just wondering about people's thoughts on this, as I continue to obsess about Columbia when I should be working on other things.

Re: Columbia C/O 2019 Applicants - 2015 - 2016
If you look closely, a significant number of people were admitted in the first week of February in each of the past three cycles. After that, as you said, acceptances become more scattered. I think people who haven't yet heard have nothing to worry about for at least another week.killingmesoftly wrote:Looking at the Columbia spreadsheets from past years, it seems like most people were accepted in January, with a scattering over February and March. I still wouldn't worry quite yet. There's a whole slew of people who were interviewed mid to late January who still haven't heard back and it seems like they're still using snail mail for some people's decisions and that throws off the timeline a bit.killingmesoftly wrote:Looking at the Columbia spreadsheets from past years, it seems like most people were accepted in January, with a scattering over February and March. Also to be clear, looking at the timelines there doesn't appear to be much correlation between when you applied and when you're admitted. Last cycle, just as many October-November applicants were admitted in the last week of Jan / first week of Feb as December-January applicants.gamerish wrote:I still wouldn't worry quite yet. ETA: in other words, it's not just January applicants who might expect to hear in the next week.
