I have it on good authority there is $120k too. I am sure they offer everything from 0-150k.Duggiiee wrote:Mine is also 90k. There are several $120,000 schollys listed in this year's spreadsheet as well. A couple $105,000 and $60-75,000 too.
Tuition alone is about $57,000/year now and that'll probably be over $60,000 by 3L.Li'l Sebastian wrote:How is 150k not just a full ride?

At least according to the info that was in my interview invite, the Darrow can be a full ride + stipend, but it isn't necessarily that much.Duggiiee wrote:Mine is also 90k. Sorry to complicate things, but my Dean's scholarship was 120, so there is at least one more tier.WinterComing wrote:At least according to the info that was in my interview invite, the Darrow can be a full ride + stipend, but it isn't necessarily that much.Duggiiee wrote:Mine is also 90k. I feel lamer than lame. I've bombarded the thread a few times whining about not getting !the email! And it turns out I had it all along and suck at noticing (thought it was a political email which I get too much of - clearly a bearish sign for my prospects as a lawyer lmao). Oh well, I'm in the delayed crowd too.

I had the Darrow interview this morning. It went well, I think. Really relaxed and conversational. I was asked a bit about myself, then why law and why Michigan, and then we just chatted for a while. Good luck to everyone else who's interviewing soon!

Hi all! I just submitted my application for Fall 2016. What has the typical turn-around been for decisions?

Average turn around time is listed in the spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... edit#gid=3Navyhornguy wrote:Hi all! I just submitted my application for Fall 2016. What has the typical turn-around been for decisions?
That's not necessarily representative of what your wait is going to be like and you shouldn't use it as a metric to measure yours against though. There have been some very quick turnarounds, while others have been waiting for 3 or 4 months with nothing.

Thank you for the spreadsheet! I'm a reverse-splitter and UM seems to be friendly to that, especially this cycle. Hopefully I didn't submit too late to be considered.gamerish wrote:Average turn around time is listed in the spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... edit#gid=3Navyhornguy wrote:Hi all! It seems from the spreadsheet too that it takes quite a while for an application to go complete. Does anyone know why this is? It seems like my other schools took a day or two go complete.

Michigan uses their own system to do admissions. Most schools use LSAC's ACES2 system which automates the conversion from the LSAC flex app that we submit to their own admissions system. Because of this switch in systems, Michigan has to re-transcribe a lot of information from your application into their system, which seems to take about a month.Navyhornguy wrote:It seems from the spreadsheet too that it takes quite a while for an application to go complete. What will you do if you get a full Darrows? Deciding between that and Harvard seems like a very difficult decision.WinterComing wrote:I had the Darrow interview this morning. It went well, I think. Ahh, well thanks for explaining it. I can't imagine having to process all of the applications, so I'm sure it's a tedious process.nacogdoches wrote:Michigan uses their own system to do admissions. In my mind Jan seems like normality, February seems late. Completely subjective but all the people who review your application will be making plenty of subjective decisions.Keilz wrote:Do you guys think submitting an app by the end of the month would be too late for any chance of acceptance, let alone scholarship money? I'm at 25<GPA/LSAT<50 right now (GPA pretty much at median, just scraping by a couple of hundreths)

Just, fyi, there are many dean's scholarship amounts. It's not just three tiers. Although generally in $15k increments from $15k up, they're basically the amount the admissions and financial aid office thinks it prudent to discount your education at.

Sounds like Columbia and UC Davis are in a similar thread?nacogdoches wrote:Michigan uses their own system to do admissions. Re: Michigan Law School C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-16)
Michigan's process is pretty weird. Today I received an Email saying that the University of Michigan's Residency Classification Office is requesting me to fill an application to facilitate their confirmation of my In-State Tuition eligibility. If I don't get admitted (which is probable), why bother to navigate through those messed-up piles of rules and stipulations? Why are they not smart enough to issue this request after admission?nacogdoches wrote:Michigan uses their own system to do admissions. Re: Michigan Law School C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-16)
maybe because whether you are in-state or not is crucial to make a decision on your application... so I guess it is a good sign they are seeking confirmation..
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
