Re: USC c/o 2018 Applicants Thread (2014-2015)
It seems like a chunk of people have gone from CR2 to FR, where the dean will give the final call on the applications based on what I have heard. But then there is also a chunk that it seems has been moved into Decision Made or DF, whatever. And finally a chunk that is stuck in CR2, still.
What does this all mean? Is there a pattern? Is this first wave of new FRs a bunch of probable dings, or waitlists or acceptances? Maybe there is no pattern at all? What you you all think?

I did. I went CR2 on 3/27 and DF Yesterday. Not sure if I hit FR in-between because I haven't checked every day.

I kind of get the feeling that I was WL/Dinged out of CR2 and went immediately to DF. I'll let you guys know as soon as I get something though.

So if I haven't gotten an email yet, they're sending a FOAD letter, right?

So it sounds like no one has received the email yet. Does anyone know when they push through this many applicants if they are all accept, all deny, or a mixture? On pins and needles here!!!

They usually come in waves. I feel like they have to be gearing up for some sort of acceptance wave. They haven't had one since March 20th.ctkingsley wrote:So it sounds like no one has received the email yet. Maybe its time for the waitlisting to begin? At least, that's what I'm hoping, having not gotten an email within 24hrs of going DF.. Anyone know if WL decisions go out by email or snail mail, btw?ctkingsley wrote:So it sounds like no one has received the email yet. Re: USC c/o 2018 Applicants Thread (2014-2015)
From looking at lsn, I feel like there will be some more acceptances, definitely some WLs (because I’m seeing only 1 WL), and some dings.
If you compare last year’s graph and this year’s, some differences and similarities.
- Looks like they are aiming for 166 median LSAT again.
- Also looks like they are taking a group of applicants with 163 plus/minus 1 point with near perfect GPAs. Look at this group compared to last years’, their GPAs are noticeably higher.
- Then, there is a group of applicants with 167+ with 3.55+ GPAs (same as last year).
Compared to last year, this year there are about 300 less applicants, from hearing through the grapevine. I’m still surprised to find that they have filled 110 seats already out of 165-175 that they are planning. That number still scares me. But I think if you fall within the three groups, you have a good chance of hearing back with good news (at least WL). I still think that the decisions will be communicated after 4/15, but hopefully I am wrong and you’ll hear back soon!! Good luck.

I really don't know, but willing to bet for a mixture of acceptances, dings, and WLs.ctkingsley wrote:Does anyone know when they push through this many applicants if they are all accept, all deny, or a mixture?

Hey everyone, good luck to all of you waiting and congrats to those who have been admitted. I graduate UG this semester and I am thinking about working for a year in a firm then applying next cycle. What are my chances with a 3.5/160 and minority? Is it common or am I dreaming? I am thinking the latter. Anyhow thanks everyone!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
